Welcome to the Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What happened on Days of our Lives
A new Days of our Lives is on its way in just two weeks when new head writer Paula Cwikly's work begins airing. However, the show took on a whole new feel already as the 'Who shot EJ?' story began taking form. With so many suspects, it's hard to know who the culprit is — and that's just how a whodunit should be. Too often, it's easy to figure out the culprit on a soap, but this time, half the town has a motive to kill EJ. On top of that, every suspect has acted suspiciously in the aftermath of the shooting. Kristen put on a good act for JJ when he questioned her (really, JJ, taking a shower before bed is not an unusual act), but then we saw her eyeing the pool of blood while looking as if she would jump out of her skin. When Rafe swiped what looked like a recording device from EJ's desk, we weren't sure if he was trying to find evidence or erase evidence. Questioning a suspect's actions is all part of the mystery when a mystery is done right. Drunk Jada losing her gun also puts the police commissioner on the suspect list, setting things up for a whole lotta fun down the line. We expect we won't know who the culprit is for a while, but if that gives us more episodes like today, we will welcome a compelling story that lasts through spring.
