What Happened on Days of our Lives

For a guy who came onto the Salem scene stealing a dead woman's diamond necklace on the day of his paternal grandfather's funeral, Doug Williams III has been awfully good ever since — maybe even too good. Heck, he was in jail when we first saw him. He immediately felt remorse for stealing the necklace after meeting Julie and seeing how kind she was to him. Then, we watched him moon over Holly, being as kind as possible through all her troubles while also being a perfect gentleman. We wondered where his edge went, if he ever had one. Well, that edge is back, as Doug is now showing his true shades of grey. He couldn't wait to tell Tate about waking up with Holly in the morning, implying that they had sex without ever actually saying it. When Holly arrived and told Tate that nothing had happened between her and Doug, her new friend had plausible deniability when Tate insisted Doug said otherwise. We first saw a hint of Doug's manipulative side when he met Sophia in Horton Town Square a few weeks ago. As we all know, Sophia can also scheme with the best of them, so we can't wait to see Doug and Sophia team up to keep Holly and Tate apart. We also have to admit that we are rooting for them. Tate and Sophia and Doug and Holly are much more interesting than Tate and Holly, a pair that might have run its course...
