The Daily Y.A.P.P. for Days of our Lives, April 29: Dump your husband, Chanel

Welcome to the Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What happened on Days of our Lives

Johnny DiMera is not husband material, at least not now. Chanel should have learned the first time around that if your new husband is possessed by the devil, you should probably not go for a second try. Since Chanel married Johnny again last year, she has had to deal with his irrational jealousy, his near-cheating, and his lies. Now, Johnny shattered Chanel's dreams and told her he didn't want to adopt Tate and Sophia's baby. He could have told her that he wasn't ready to adopt weeks ago. It shouldn't have mattered that Amy Choi wouldn't allow them to adopt this baby then. Chanel wanted to be a mom, Johnny knew it, and he let his wife get her hopes up that they would one day have a baby in their lives. To hear that Johnny isn't even sure he wants to be a parent at all should be the last straw for Chanel. Johnny is just too wishy-washy and impulsive to be married to anyone right now. Yes, he is going through some things thanks to learning how he was conceived, but he has been a lousy husband from the start, so he has no real excuse. Perhaps Johnny is much more like his parents than he wants to believe — both of them. If Chanel wants to flat-out dump EJ and Sami's son right now, we'd cheer her on.
