The Daily Y.A.P.P. for Days of our Lives, April 24: The Million-Dollar Man

Welcome to the Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What happened on Days of our Lives

Did you know Chad DiMera was worth a million dollars? Nope, neither did we. But seriously, this bachelor auction just kept getting weirder on day 2. First, it was nighttime in Salem when Gabi bid 10 grand on Alex, disappointing Stephanie, but it was bright and sunny outside. Then, during this day/night episode, Kayla managed to get to the hospital and back again to continue the auction she was supposed to be hosting. Then, Maggie bid a million dollars and won Chad, but how? Earlier in the episode, Maggie made a big point of telling Kayla that she hadn't made a big donation at this fundraiser because she was now cash poor. All of her money was tied up in the Titan-DiMera takeover, so she couldn't just write a check like her beloved Victor would have. Yet, she was able to bid a cool million at a bachelor auction just so her pal Chad didn't have to go on a real date with anyone. What was the point of that scene between Kayla and Maggie if what Maggie said just wasn't true? This was the first full day with all-new writing, yet we have this huge plot hole right out of the gate. It might be a minor plot point, but it also illustrates what's wrong with soaps today — tons of inconsistency all in the same episode that leaves us all scratching our heads.
