Welcome to the Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What happened on Days of our Lives

There are few things more frustrating on soaps than when the time of day does not match from scene to scene, discomboblutating the audence. As Kayla took on the role of auctioneer at the bachelor auction in The Brady Pub, she repeated the word "tonight" multiple times. She asked how much people were willing to bid "tonight," implying that it was nighttime in Salem. But how could that be when it was shiny and bright outside in Horton Town Square where the carnival festivities were taking place? On top of that, the show began with characters waking in the morning before quickly getting ready for the carnival. Alex and Stephanie discussed the auction, and now Alex didn't really consider himself a bachelor anymore. Over at the Kiriakis mansion, Sarah woke from a nightmare in which Philip blabbed her secret to Xander. Soon, they were all at the carnival, but outside, it was daytime, and inside, it was nighttime. Cool trick if you can make that happen, but it was also just another example of the inconsistency of soaps when scenes are taped out of order. The same thing happens on General Hospital all the time. Perhaps when The Brady Pub patrons walk outside, they will realize it's still daytime, so it will be a while before Gabi and her $10,000 prize, Alex, can enjoy their night on the town.
