At the hospital, Holly delivered doughnuts to Sarah. “I’m all right, all things considered. It’s Xander that I’m actually worried about,” Sarah confessed. “Why? What’s going on with Xander?” Holly asked. Sarah explained that Xander was angry and struggling with Sarah’s paralysis. “I’m a little worried that he might take it out on the wrong person,” Sarah admitted. Holly noted that Xander was frustrated, and Sarah agreed.

“I’m sure that Jada is doing everything she can. It’s just, Xander’s not gonna stop until they arrest someone. And I love him for that. I just hope he doesn’t get himself locked up in the process,” Sarah said. “Xander does this kind of thing often then?” Holly asked. Sarah smiled, and she noted that Xander was protective.

“All I know is I would totally freak if someone hurt the person I love,” Holly said. Sarah smiled, and she asked Holly, “And who might that be?” Sarah steepled her fingers, and she teased Holly about her love interest. With a chuckle, Holly started to say something, but Dr. Mark Greene walked in and interrupted. Sarah introduced Holly to Mark, but Holly admitted they already knew one another. “Holly went to the prom with my kid brother, Aaron. Only to leave him halfway through the night,” Mark teased. Holly smiled sheepishly and apologized. Sarah asked for details.

“Apparently, it was only a ruse, because she only has eyes for Tate Black,” Mark said. Holly explained that Aaron had been in on the plan, so he had known it was a ruse. “But Tate’s parents busted us, anyway,” Holly said. Mark noted that that was why Aaron and Tate were off at lacrosse camp. With a puzzled look, Mark noted that he had seen a picture of Aaron on a social media account for the camp, but it had labeled Aaron as “Tate Black.” “Weird,” Holly said.

As Mark studied Sarah’s chart, Sarah asked if there was any chance he had good news. “Sorry, but I’m optimistic. If anyone can come back from this, it’s you, Sarah,” Mark said. Holly agreed. As Holly started to leave, Mark asked her to pass along a message to Aaron. “Ask the camp photographer to meet the real Tate Black,” Mark said. “Will do,” Holly said as she hurried out of the room.

At the police station, Xander stormed into Jada’s office and demanded to know why she was wasting time behind her desk. “I know that you are very upset about what is happening with Sarah, but that doesn’t give you a right to barge in,” Jada said. Xander interrupted to demand an arrest of the perpetrator of the hit-and-run. Frustrated, Xander accused Jada of enjoying her “cushy job after Rafe’s misfortune.” Jada scowled.

“I’ll advise you to watch your tone,” Jada growled. “I want results,” Xander countered. Jada promised Xander that the department was working to find the driver of the car. “If you or anyone else in this pathetic excuse for a police department could do your jobs, then the monster that paralyzed my wife would already be rotting in jail!” Xander yelled. Jada softened, and she apologized for not having heard about Sarah’s condition.

“I’m not interested in your apologies, Jada. If you want to show compassion, just do your job,” Xander said. “I promise you, I am. It is my number one priority,” Jada stressed. Xander pointed out that there were no suspects, despite days having passed since the accident. “We have a lead on the car that hit Sarah,” Jada said. Jada told Xander about the partial plate.

When Xander suggested that he would have the Titan security team help track down the car, Jada refused to give Xander the information. “This is a police investigation. And I am not about to have you or your team interfere with that,” Jada said. Xander argued that the police had multiple cases to work on, and his team would be focused only on Sarah’s accident. Jada insisted that she could not allow Xander to intimidate possible suspects in the case.

Jada encouraged Xander to spend time with his wife, and she promised to call Xander when she had news about an arrest. “Whoever did this to Sarah better hope, better pray that you find them before I do,” Xander grumbled.

Brady paced his penthouse living room, and he wondered aloud why his car was missing. Maggie called Brady, and she told him that Sarah was paralyzed. “I’m so sorry,” Brady stammered. Maggie explained that Sarah might regain the use of her legs, but the odds were not in Sarah’s favor. “What can I do?” Brady asked. Maggie asked Brady to pray for Sarah and for justice.

At the Salem Inn, Fiona sipped a drink and thought about when Xander had told her about Sarah’s paralysis. “Dear God, what have I done to that poor girl?” Fiona said. There was a knock at the door, and Fiona hid her alcohol in a drawer. Brady was at the door. “What are you doing here? Did you find out what happened with your car?” Fiona asked.

Brady asked Fiona why she had not told him about Sarah’s paralysis. Fiona reminded Brady that she had mentioned that Sarah had had some motor difficulties. “I did downplay it, but that’s because I thought it wasn’t permanent,” Fiona said. Fiona added that she was upset about her daughter-in-law, and Brady was not her priority.

“I understand that you have something personal in this. But do you understand, I am dying here?” Brady countered. Fiona encouraged Brady to calm down. “You’re not the one who may be to blame for her paralysis!” Brady barked. Fiona flinched. “We’re not even sure that you hit Sarah,” Fiona stressed.

With a shake of his head, Brady argued that the evidence pointed at him. Fiona noted that Brady had no memory of the night of the accident, and it was a terrible idea to imagine the worst possibilities of what could have happened that night. After Fiona poured a drink for Brady, he reluctantly gulped it down. Fiona asked Brady if he felt better.

“It’s not better. Xander and Sarah, they just got married, right? They have a daughter, Fiona. They have their whole lives in front of them. It’s not better,” Brady said. Maggie knocked on the door. “It’s Maggie and Victoria. Are you there?” Maggie called out. Fiona handed the bottle of vodka to Brady, and she shoved him in the bathroom to hide. Fiona let Maggie in.

“I need for you to watch Victoria for a while. I’m heading back to the hospital to visit Sarah,” Maggie said. Fiona agreed to babysit, and she asked about Sarah’s condition. “No news to report, as far as I know. Sarah is trying to be brave and stoic. I can only imagine how terrified she must be feeling. Thinking about her future that she may not be able to walk,” Maggie said. With a sigh, Maggie lamented that Sarah was missing out on the happy first days of her new marriage. In the bathroom, Brady winced.

“This random person just takes it all away from her and leaves her there. Just flees like a coward,” Maggie said. “That’s awful,” Fiona agreed. Maggie thanked Fiona for her help with Victoria. “I’m so glad Sarah tracked you down. I know it’s a blessing for Xander to have his mother here, especially given what he is dealing with now,” Maggie said. Fiona sent her love to Sarah.

After Maggie left, Brady exited the bathroom. “That was excruciating. Hearing how Maggie is suffering about her daughter, because I am most likely the cause of all the pain to begin with,” Brady said. Fiona cautioned Brady to remember that he did not know if he had caused the accident. “Let’s stay the course, okay?” Fiona said. Brady agreed. As Brady walked out, Fiona assured him that everything would be okay. After Brady left, Fiona worried aloud about keeping Brady from going to the police.

When Xander arrived at the hospital, Sarah introduced him to Mark. Mark encouraged Xander to call with any questions, and then he left. A smiling Xander handed Sarah a bouquet of flowers. Xander noticed the bag of doughnuts, and Sarah told him about her visit from Holly. Sarah mentioned that Holly had agreed that she would be just as protective with the person she loved as Xander. “Which I assume is Tate Black,” Sarah added. “She’s still pining after him?” Xander said. Sarah nodded yes. Xander argued that it was a bad idea for Holly to date Tate, because Tate was Brady and Theresa’s son.

“Give him a chance, and he’ll break her heart,” Xander said. Xander argued that Holly could find someone better than Tate. “And is that what people will say about our Victoria?” Sarah asked. Xander said he had no plans to let anyone date his daughter. “Sure. Just lock her in a tower. That’s a really good plan,” Sarah said with a chuckle. Xander vowed to never let anyone hurt Victoria or Sarah again.

As Xander leaned forward to kiss Sarah, Maggie walked into the room. “Where’s Victoria?” Sarah asked. Maggie said she had left the baby with Fiona. “Any news?” Maggie asked. Xander noted that although there was no news for Sarah, there was a break in the accident investigation. Xander explained that surveillance footage had uncovered a partial license plate and that the police were tracking down all the cars that matched. “With any luck, soon they’ll be knocking on the door of the bastard that put you in this hospital bed,” Xander said.

When Brady returned home to the penthouse, he poured a glass of vodka. There was a knock on the front door. Brady hid the drink, and he opened the door. It was Jada. “I am investigating Sarah Horton-Kiriakis’ hit-and-run, and I need to see your car,” Jada said.

Tate was working out in his underwear in the Horton cabin when he had an unexpected visitor. “Sofia?” Tate said. “Expecting someone else?” Sofia asked as she walked into the cabin. Tate asked Sofia why she was there. Sofia said she knew that Holly was busy with work. “I thought you might be lonely,” Sofia said. Sofia sidled up close to Tate, and she asked what he wanted to do.

“Why would you think that I’d want to hang out with you?” Tate asked. “Well, we’re friends, right?” Sofia said. With a furrowed brow, Tate noted that friends did not gaslight his girlfriend. Sofia rolled her eyes. “She told me how you tried to make her feel bad that, you know, we hadn’t had sex yet,” Tate said. Sofia said that had not been her intention. “I was just surprised,” Sofia said. Sofia noted that it was strange that Tate and Holly had not had sex after all the time they had spent alone together.

“I’ve talked to a bunch of guys, and they say when someone teases you like that, it can get uncomfortable,” Sofia said. Tate stressed that Holly had not teased him. “And I hate to tell you, but those guys are just trying to get in your pants,” Tate said. With a smirk, Sofia asked Tate if he did not constantly think about sex like other teenage boys. “No!” Tate said too quickly. Sofia hinted that Tate’s body disagreed, and Tate grabbed a pillow to hold in front of him.

“It’s not because of you! It’s morning. And it happens sometimes,” Tate stammered. “Morning, noon, night. There’s nothing to be ashamed of, nothing at all,” Sofia said. Sofia offered to ease the sexual tension, but Tate declined. “I love Holly,” Tate said. Sofia scoffed. “Who said anything about love?” Sofia whispered. Sofia removed the coverup over her bathing suit.

“If you’re not gonna leave, then one of us should put our clothes on,” Tate said. As Tate reached for his pants, Sofia put her arms around his neck. “Stop, I don’t want this,” Tate said. “Why not? I won’t tell if you won’t,” Sofia countered. Tate backed away, but Sofia’s arms were locked around him.

“What Holly doesn’t know won’t hurt us,” Sofia said. “Oh you are so wrong about that,” Holly growled as she entered the cabin. Sofia told Holly that the situation was not what it looked like. “So, you didn’t just sneak up here, trying to make a play for my boyfriend?” Holly said. Sofia argued that Holly could not claim possession of someone that she had only kissed. Upset, Holly told Sofia that the level of intimacy between Holly and Tate was not Sofia’s business. “You’re a lying skank,” Holly said. Holly ordered Sofia to leave.

“Tate, try not to think too much about what you could have had,” Sofia said. “Leave!” Holly yelled. Sofia grabbed her coverup and headed for the door. “And don’t be late for work,” Sofia said as she walked out. Holly demanded to know what had happened.

At the DiMera mansion, Abigail called someone and said, “I don’t think I can do this anymore.” Abigail complained that it was too difficult to be watched constantly. “Meanwhile, they’re waiting for me to remember my old life!” Abigail said. Abigail admitted that Chad had been patient, but she worried that his patience would wear off. Chad knocked on the door, and Abigail hurriedly ended her call.

Chad delivered a cup of coffee to Abigail, and he asked her how she was doing in the old room. “In this room. Where I was murdered,” Abigail said. Chad nodded yes. Abigail told Chad that it was okay, because she had survived. “Is it hard for you to be in this room?” Abigail asked. Chad said yes. With a nod, Abigail started to talk about Clyde entering the room, and then she appeared to go blank. Abigail gasped. “I think I’m remembering!” Abigail exclaimed. Chad asked about the memory.

“I was on the bed there, and Clyde was coming in. And he said, ‘I know what you’ve been up to,’” Abigail said. “He was talking about the drug ring!” Chad said. Abigail noted that the memory was fuzzy. Abigail furrowed her brow with concentration, and then she crouched and yelled, “No, no, no!” Abigail threw up her hands as if she was protecting herself from an attack. Chad crouched beside Abigail, and he pulled her into his arms.

“This is too painful. No, we’re done,” Chad said. “It’s gone. It was right there, it’s gone. I’m sorry,” Abigail said. Chad noted that Abigail had had a big breakthrough. “That means that the Abby I knew, she’s still in there,” Chad said. Chad released Abigail from his embrace, and he smiled at her. “This means your memories are coming back,” Chad said. Chad asked Abigail if she remembered anything else. After a moment, Abigail shook her head and noted that the memory had only been a brief flash.

“I’m sorry, you’re disappointed. I know,” Abigail said. “No, this is a huge first step,” Chad reassured Abigail. Chad noted that if Abigail remembered the worst moment of her life, it was only a matter of time before she would remember the good times in her life. “You really think so?” Abigail asked. Chad nodded yes. “We shared a lot of good times together,” Chad said. As Chad hugged Abigail, a worried look crossed her face.

“I am putting too much pressure on you,” Chad said as he pulled away. Chad apologized for his impatience. With a grin, Chad suggested that they spend the day together. “That sounds lovely, but I think what I need is a little time alone to process what just happened,” Abigail said. Chad forced a smile, and he said that was fine. Chad apologized again for being pushy.

“It makes me hopeful to see the hope on your face,” Abigail said. Chad asked Abigail where she planned to go on her walk, and she said she wanted to see the park. “Maybe it’ll help jog some memories,” Abigail said.

Chad returned to his room, and he stared at a photo of him with Abigail. “It won’t be long. You’re finally coming back to me,” Chad said. In the park, Abigail waited to meet her contact from her phone texts. “Relax, I’m right here,” Dr. Mark Greene said as he rounded the corner.
