After 45 years away from the Salem scene, beloved daytime vet Stephen Schnetzer is ready to make his Days of our Lives and soap opera comeback.
Days of our Lives' Julie Williams has been thinking a lot about family of late after her grandparents' home burned down. As she's told tales of the Hortons to the mysterious "EverBobby" Lynch, we have heard about her brother, Steven. Now comes the news that Stephen Schnetzer will be reprising his role as Julie and Hope's big brother.
Schnetzer revealed the news to Alan Locher on the YouTube show The Locher Room on March 29.
"I have an announcement to make, breaking news," Schnetzer said. "As far as I know, next week I'm flying out to LA. I hope I'm not giving anything up, but they've asked Steve Olson to come back for a couple of episodes. I'll say no more than that."

Schnetzer played Steve from 1978 to 1979 before his big soap break in 1982 when he landed the role of Cass Winthrop on Another World. He played Cass for 17 years until the show was canceled in 1999. During that time, he worked with a current DAYS star, Jacke Harry, who portrayed Lily Mason from 1983 to1986. Harry currently plays Salem's Paulina Price Carver.
Since his role as Cass ended 25 years ago, Schnetzer has made numerous episodic television appearances but also kept his soap muscles working as Richard Kaufman on the digital series The Bay from 2022 to 2023.
There's no word yet on when Schnetzer will appear on DAYS, but since the show tapes months in advance, we can probably expect to see him by next fall.
