Peacock renews DAYS, soap will continue through its 60th season

The sand will continue falling through the iconic hourglass for the foreseeable future. Days of our Lives has just received a multi-year renewal from Peacock.

Any fear that Days of our Lives' move from broadcast television was a signal of its impending demise has now been wiped away. The venerable soap opera has been picked up for two additional seasons.

In September 2022, after 57 years on NBC, Days of our Lives moved to the Peacock streaming service. At the time, DAYS executive producer Ken Corday called streaming "the future" and suggested that "in a year or two," all first-run dramatic television would move to a streaming forum.

Though viewership numbers have not been released by Peacock, something that is typical of most streaming services, Days of our Lives has consistently been one of Peacock's top ten-most streamed titles since its move to Peacock in September. The show was also reportedly one of the platform's most-watched programs before its move from NBC.

According to Peacock, DAYS has garnered 61 Daytime Emmy Awards over the years, including 2022's Outstanding Writing Team nod. The soap has also received multiple People's Choice Awards, GLAAD Media Awards, and Prism Awards.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated.
