Days of our Lives fans were shocked and awed when Miranda Wilson popped up as Megan Hathaway on the second season of Peacock's Beyond Salem. It marked the first time that the actress had played the ne'er-do-well since 1985. And she was "thrilled to bits" to be back.
It also marked the first time that Wilson had been on a soap during the social media age, and it has been a totally new experience for her.
"I'm used to the olden days, where you get letters from fans and that's how you know what they think," Wilson told Soap Opera Digest. "But every day I was seeing all these tweets and all these posts, and I'm like, 'Wow, this is really cool. They love this character!'"
So, when Wilson was asked to bring the role to the DAYS mothership, the actress said she was "really happy."
Getting to work with Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans), Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Brady), and Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) was the cherry on the sundae of her DAYS return. "They're a hoot," Wilson said. "We really had a great time together. It's funny because I was just sitting there being the bitch, which isn't necessarily the foundation for a good friendship."
DAYS hasn't revealed just how long Wilson's Megan will be sticking around to cause trouble, but Wilson has already let it be known that she'd welcome another opportunity to play Megan.
"Satisfying and fulfilling are the wrong words" to describe how it felt to be back on DAYS. "It's purposeful in a way that's so expansive. I couldn't have asked for a more magnificent storyline."
