Days of our Lives has cast Insecure alum Donielle Artese to play a new role connected to T.R. Coates (William Christian), who just arrived in Salem as the potentially reformed bad-guy-ex of Paulina (Jackée Harry).

The drama is heating up on Days of our Lives, which will be dropping anther bomb into the storyline that has seen Paulina (Jackée Harry) deal with the unexpected arrival of her abusive former flame, T.R. Coates (William Christian): actress Donielle Artese will be jumping into the action as T.R.'s ex-girlfriend!

DAYS showed viewers their first glimpse of Artese playing her new role in a recently released teaser promo featuring Harry, who gives the scoop on what's ahead in the voice of her Salem alter ego, Paulina.

"So, after decades -- decades -- this total a-hole from my past, he shows up out of the blue, and he says, 'I've changed, Paulina. I'm a new man,'" she says of T.R.'s appearance. "Should I believe him?"

The promo also includes two teaser clips, one of which shows T.R. (a.k.a. Ray) pleading for Paulina's forgiveness, and another of which shows Artese in a scene with Eli (Lamon Archey), announcing that she is T.R.'s ex-girlfriend.

"Well I was supposed to be waiting until closer to the air date, butttt, I guess the cat's out of the bag!" Artese teased on Instagram about her DAYS debut. "Make sure to tell your moms and grandmothers to tune in!"

So, what kind of information will this new character reveal about T.R., and will she prove to be friend or foe to Paulina and company? DAYS is keeping mum about that for now, but Artese reveals that viewers can watch all the drama play out when she appears on-screen from March through June.

Though new to daytime, Artese has quite a few credits, including Insecure, Jane the Virgin, Rizzoli & Isles, Raising Hope, Grey's Anatomy, and Mad Men.
