The Western film Rust will feature several former soap stars, including Alec Baldwin, Jensen Ackles, and Frances Fisher.
Congratulations are in order for Days of our Lives alum Jensen Ackles (ex-Eric Brady), who has signed on to the cast of the upcoming Western Rust alongside Hollywood star Alec Baldwin (ex-Billy Aldrich, The Doctors).
According to Deadline, the story follows Baldwin as infamous Western outlaw Harland Rust, who has had a bounty on his head for as long as he can remember. When Rust's estranged thirteen-year-old grandson Lucas (Brady Noon) is convicted of an accidental murder and sentenced to hang, Rust travels to Kansas to break him out of prison.

Together, the two fugitives must outrun the legendary U.S. Marshal Wood Helm (Ackles) and bounty-hunter Fenton "Preacher" Lang (Travis Fimmel), who are hot on their tail. Deeply buried secrets rise from the ashes and an unexpected familial bond begins to form as the mismatched duo tries to survive the merciless American Frontier.
Rust will also star Frances Fisher (ex-Suzette Saxon, Guiding Light) as Lucas' great-aunt.
Jensen Ackles starred as Days of our Lives' Eric from 1997 until 2000 before going on to find success on numerous primetime series, including Supernatural and Smallville. He recently landed the huge role of Soldier Boy in the upcoming third season of The Boys, and he has joined All My Children alum Josh Duhamel (ex-Leo du Pres) for the two-part animated DC Comics film Batman: The Long Halloween.
