Peacock has released the official trailer for Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem, and fans will be thrilled to see the return of yet another blast from the past character in the limited series: ISA agent Shane Donovan, played by ultra-popular actor Charles Shaughnessy!
The fictional spy opens the trailer with an explanation of what Peacock's five-episode special streaming event is about: the recovery of a precious jeweled artifact called the Alamainian Peacock, which was stolen in 1991 and has fallen into dangerous hands.
Over the course of a long weekend, several Salemites will help Shane and his ISA friends -- including Billie Reed (Lisa Rinna) and Kyle Graham (Peter Porte) -- track down the priceless peacock, knowing that if they don't, the situation could have dire consequences for Salem.
As Soap Central previously reported, Beyond Salem will also feature Drake Hogestyn as John Black, Deidre Hall as Marlena Evans, Robert Scott Wilson as Ben Weston, Victoria Konefal as Ciara Brady, Billy Flynn as Chad DiMera, James Reynolds as Abe Carver, Jackée Harry as Paulina Price, Sal Stowers as Lani Price, Lamon Archey as Eli Grant, Thaao Penghlis as André DiMera, Leann Hunley as Anna DiMera, Christie Clark as Carrie Brady, Austin Peck as Austin Reed, Greg Rikaart as Leo Stark, Chandler Massey as Will Horton, and Y&R alum Zachary Atticus Tinker (ex-Fenmore Baldwin) as a recast for the role of Sonny Kiriakis.
As seen in the trailer (below), Canadian drag queen Jackie Cox, who's known for her Lisa Rinna impersonation and appearing on RuPaul's Drag Race, will also guest-star in the upcoming DAYS spinoff. Meanwhile, though Peacock has yet to officially announce which character Eileen Davidson will be playing in the series, she is featured in the trailer as what appears to be two of her former DAYS characters, Kristen DiMera and Susan Banks -- both of whom are currently played by actress Stacy Haiduk in the regular version of the soap that airs on NBC.
Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem will premiere on Monday, September 6. New episodes will drop daily, culminating with the limited series finale on Friday, September 10. All episodes will be available to stream for free. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think in the Comments section at the end of the article!
