Daniel Cosgrove exits DAYS; lands hilarious primetime series

Daniel Cosgrove is once again exiting his role as Days of our Lives' Aiden Jennings, but fans can catch him in the heartwarming new series Project Dad.

Days of our Lives' Daniel Cosgrove (Aiden Jennings) is once again leaving Salem, but this time he's got what sounds to be quite a fun project lined up after the NBC soap.

The actor -- who has also been known to soap opera audiences as All My Children's Scott Chandler, As the World Turns' Chris Hughes, and Guiding Light's Bill Lewis -- has signed on to be a part of the hilarious new Discovery Life series Project Dad, which explores what happens when celebrity dads are home alone with the kids.

Produced by former soap star Ricky Paull Goldin (ex-Jake Martin, All My Children; ex-Gus Aitoro, Guiding Light; ex-Gary Dawson, The Young and the Restless; ex-Dean Frame, Another World), Project Dad follows Cosgrove along with comedian Donnell Rawlings (Chappelle's Show and world-famous DJ Skribble (MTV's TRL) when their partners leave home for a few days, leaving them alone in parenthood. The dads end up struggling to balance caring for a home, parenting, and pursuing a full-time career all on their own.

"Project Dad will have viewers laughing, crying, and relishing in the real life moments these dads have with their children," said William J. Rouhana Jr., executive chairman of Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, which partnered with Goldin's company, DB Goldline, to produce the series.

Cosgrove has four children (Lily, Esme Rose, Ruby Willow, and Finnian Jack), so viewers will be in for a treat when Project Dad makes its debut on Discovery Life on Tuesday, November 1, at 7:00PM and runs again on TLC on Thursday, January 5, at 5PM.

As for Cosgrove's DAYS role, reps for the NBC soap have kept mum about his exit, including when fans can expect the actor to depart Salem for the second time around.
