DAYS' Peter Reckell makes historic return, but not to role you might expect

Days of our Lives' Peter Reckell (ex-Bo Brady) is making headlines with his latest career move: returning to The Fantasticks 35 years after departing the show

Days of our Lives' Peter Reckell closed the book on Bo when the character met his maker this past November, but he's opening the door for another chapter on one of his past projects.

Playbill.com reports that the iconic actor will be returning to the classic musical The Fantasticks after 35 years. And the twist is that rather than playing the roles of The Mute and The Boy as he did during the production's original run and its run at the Sullivan Street Playhouse in Greenwich Village, he'll be taking on the grown-up role of the mysterious El Gallo.

Fans can catch Reckell in his new role starting this September. Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com, by calling the box office at (212) 921-7862, or by visiting the box office at The Jerry Orbach Theater at The Theater Center, 210 West 50th Street at Broadway.

Though best known for hos Emmy-nominated DAYS role, Reckell made his network-television debut in 1980 as Eric Hollister on As the World Turns.
