Two-time Daytime Emmy nominee Molly Burnett might soon be leaving Salem. A published report states that the actress, who has played Melanie since 2008, might exit the soap to pursue other opportunities.
Could Molly Burnett (Melanie Jonas) be exiting Days of our Lives in the near future? It's entirely possible, according to a newly published report.
Soap Opera Digest reports that Burnett may opt to not renew her contract with the NBC soap when it expires in June. The magazine reports that Burnett has had to pass on projects outside of daytime because her contract did not allow her the "outs" to pursue them.
Burnett has, however, landed several primetime spots during her DAYS run, including a role earlier this year on CSI: NY.
Burnett joined Days of our Lives in June 2008. In 2010, the actress picked up her first Daytime Emmy nomination. The actress is nominated in the Outstanding Younger Actress category again this year.
NBC does not comment on contracts or rumors.
