Kristen stormed into the DiMera mansion and lambasted E.J. for having Brady arrested again, with no evidence. A calm E.J. informed Kristen that he had an eyewitness: the victim herself. He bragged about Sarah’s sudden memory return, but Kristen remained unconvinced. She proclaimed that E.J. knew Sarah had been “lying through her pearly white teeth.” E.J. asked Kristen why she was questioning Sarah’s memory recall, and Kristen testily responded, “Because I’m not an idiot!”
Kristen reminded E.J. that even Marlena had proven unsuccessful in restoring Sarah’s memory. Kristen found it “convenient” that Sarah’s memory had supposedly returned right after the charges against Brady had been dropped. E.J. contested that Sarah was not a schemer like them and that, as a Horton, she was a “stand-up citizen.” Kristen compelled E.J. to remember that his “stand-up citizen” had lied about her children’s paternity twice. The war of words between the siblings escalated as Kristen accused E.J. of taking out his rage against Nicole on Brady, while E.J. countered that Kristen was still in love with a man who despised her.
E.J. vowed that he would make Brady pay for crippling Sarah, and before she stormed out, Kristen hissed that she would stop him.
Tate visited with Brady at the police station. Brady surprised Tate by revealing that Brady had not been drinking the previous night. Tate remained skeptical and expressed his doubts, but Brady insisted that something else had caused his odd behavior. He pleaded with Tate to believe him. After a beat, Tate affirmed that he believed Brady and that he was behind his father “100 percent.”

Brady was grateful for Tate's faith in him but also relayed that he was sorry for how the situation had affected his son. Brady reminded Tate that Tate had many people in his corner, like Tate's grandparents, but the teen bristled when Brady brought up Holly. When Tate admitted that he and Holly had been fighting, Brady defended Holly and urged Tate to give her time. Tate wasn’t sure if he could move past Holly’s lack of regard for his feelings, especially after what she had done. Upon Brady’s questioning, Tate disclosed that Holly had tried to find evidence against Brady.
Tate blamed himself for letting Holly in and for having unknowingly told Holly about Eric’s role in Daniel’s death. Brady admitted that both he and Eric had hurt Holly’s family, and he stressed that Tate should not shoulder any blame for Holly’s lashing out. Brady’s own anger simmered when Tate mentioned E.J.’s possible involvement in Holly’s actions. Tate and Brady reaffirmed their love for each other before Tate departed. After his son left, Brady damned E.J.
Shortly after Tate’s visit, Kristen showed up in the interrogation room. She had heard about Sarah’s claims and wanted to help. As Brady shook his head in dismay, Kristen told him that she could “get rid” of Sarah and fix the problem. Brady was aghast at Kristen’s suggestion that she send Sarah to the island again or “take a page out of Connie Vininski’s book.” He warned Kristen to let justice take its course.
When Kristen invoked Rachel, Brady stated his belief that the little girl would be fine with Kristen. He tried to extract a promise from Kristen not to make things worse, but Kristen declared her love for Brady and vowed that she would go to any length to protect him.
While Brady stewed in anxiety and alarm after Kristen left, E.J. strolled into the room and began boasting about how he had Brady in the crosshairs. E.J. snidely pledged that Brady’s days of escaping justice were over.
Outside the Bistro, Holly spotted Sophia exiting the restaurant and tried to make a getaway. However, Sophia stopped her and snarked about Holly’s “new after-school job.” Holly reminded Sophia that the only job she’d had had been due to Sophia’s blackmail. Sophia sarcastically asked if the D.A.’s office had hired Holly as the new “teen detective.” Holly feigned ignorance, but Sophia said she knew about what Holly had done at Tate’s place.
Sophia accused Holly of attempting to mimic teen crime solvers like Harriet the Spy, Veronica Mars, Nancy Drew, and Charlie Cale. She also blasted Holly for using Tate and called Holly’s actions “low, even for you.” Sophia happily informed Holly that Tate had told her everything, and she challenged Holly to confirm that her big-shot ex-stepfather had put her up to the failed plan. Holly huffed that she did not owe Sophia an explanation.
Sophia countered that Tate kept coming to her for comfort because Holly had taken all of her issues out on him. She continued that Holly was handing Tate over to her, “gift-wrapped,” because Holly was a “sexually repressed…hot mess,” just as she had been since their childhoods. When Sophia smirked and insinuated that she would “satisfy” Tate in ways Holly never could, Holly slapped her. At that moment, Tate rushed up and demanded to know what Holly was doing.
While Sophia rubbed her face and played innocent, Holly explained to Tate that Sophia had started it. Tate didn’t want to hear Holly’s excuses, but Sophia spoke up and said she had started the fight. Sophia continued that she had not been able to keep herself from confronting Holly over what Holly had done to Tate. An incredulous Holly asked if Tate actually believed Sophia, and she dared Sophia to admit what had been said before the slap.
Tate stopped Holly’s tirade and claimed Holly had “caused enough trouble” for the day. He declared that he’d had enough. Wide-eyed, Holly asked if Tate was breaking up with her, as Sophia looked on hopefully. Before Tate could respond, Holly said she’d save him the trouble and proclaimed them over. She sniped that Sophia and Tate deserved each other, and she turned to leave.
Tate didn’t stop Holly. Meanwhile, Sophia wore a satisfied smile.
At the Titan offices, Xander read an article about Brady’s arrest. As Xander declared that the “son of a bitch” was going to pay, Eric walked into the office. He refused to leave until he spoke with Xander. From behind his desk, Xander warned Eric that any pleas on Brady’s behalf would fall on deaf ears. Eric clarified that he had not come for his brother’s “absolution.”
Instead, Eric coolly asked what Xander had been doing in Brady’s room and why he had been standing over a barely conscious Brady. Xander lied that he had wanted to tell Brady that Brady would not get away with the crime. Eric pressed Xander on how Brady had been supposedly “smashed” when Xander had arrived on the scene. Xander reminded Eric that Brady was a drunk who had probably been drinking before Xander’s entrance. Eric locked eyes with Xander and declared that he hadn’t believed a word out of Xander’s mouth.
Xander claimed he didn’t have any reason to lie. Eric recounted Brady’s story about encountering a man who had presented himself as a fellow A.A. attendee. Eric theorized about how Brady had become sick shortly after shaking the man’s hand. Xander scoffed and asked what Eric was insinuating. Eric replied that he would state it outright: Xander had hired a “thug” to go after Brady.
While Eric couldn’t say for certain what Xander’s intention had been, he vowed that he would get to the bottom of the story. Xander denied Eric’s allegation, grew hostile, and commanded Eric to get out of his office.
Later, when Xander was alone, he pulled a gun from his desk and promised that if the justice system failed again, then he would take care of Brady himself.
Fiona settled beside Sarah for a chat at the park. Sarah was curious as to what Fiona wanted to discuss. Fiona directly stated that she knew Sarah had lied about the night of the accident. Sarah wondered how Fiona could possibly know what was in Sarah’s mind. Fiona flashed back to the accident as Sarah prodded her for an answer. Fiona claimed that she had overheard Sarah admitting her lie to Xander.
Fiona wanted to know why Sarah had lied to the police. Sarah confessed that she had done it for both Brady’s sake and Xander’s sake. She then horrified Fiona by revealing Xander’s plot to kill Brady. As Fiona absorbed the details of Sarah’s story, her guilt grew. She eventually blurted out that she was to blame for the whole situation.
When Sarah raised questions, Fiona backtracked and claimed she felt responsible for having been with Brady that night and having not stopped him from drinking. Sarah assured Fiona that she had nothing to regret and admitted that a part of her wanted justice served on the person who had hurt her. Fiona teared up and stated how much she had come to care for Sarah. When Fiona said that Sarah was like a daughter to her, the women embraced.
Following the hug, Sarah asked Fiona to keep what they had discussed between them. Unbeknownst to Fiona and Sarah, Eric lurked in the bushes.
Kristen returned to the mansion and poured herself a drink. She opened up to “Father” about how much she loved Brady, even though he was the son of Stefano’s sworn enemy. She believed it would take a miracle to exonerate Brady. Just then, the secret door opened behind her, and Rolf stepped out. Kristen jumped up and stared at the doctor in shock.
