At the Bistro, Chanel joined Johnny for dinner. They both expressed nervousness and excitement about filming their first episode of Body & Soul the following day. Johnny gifted Chanel with a star necklace in commemoration of the occasion, as he believed Chanel would become a “star” after the show’s debut. Chanel was less certain about her ability, especially since she would have to perform a tango in one of her first episodes. Johnny revealed that his dad had taught him the tango, and he rose from the table and extended his hand to Chanel.

Chanel accepted Johnny's invitation, and the couple performed an impromptu tango, to applause from the other diners. Back at the table, they briefly discussed the latest happenings with E.J., Stefan, and Gabi. Johnny and Chanel agreed they did not want to return to the “war zone” at the mansion, but they reluctantly called it a night, since they would have an early morning.

Back at the mansion, Chanel and Johnny were shocked to discover that a bomb had exploded. Johnny called E.J. and got an update on the night’s events. He and Chanel recalled their prior meeting with Connie.

In Ava’s room above the pub, Ava bandaged Stefan’s injured hand. He explained that he had stopped by to apologize for propositioning Ava. After Stefan admitted that he had acted like a “misogynistic ass” and said he was sorry, Ava snarked that he should be sorry. Stefan chided her about forgiving him, since he had saved her life. Ava agreed to forgive Stefan if he let her take him to the hospital to get checked out, and he relented.

Outside the pub, Jada held her gun on Connie and instructed the other woman to drop the knife. Connie let go of the weapon, enabling Jada to put her in cuffs. Connie tried to feign ignorance but tripped up after Jada informed her that Melinda and Gabi had survived the bomb. As Connie continued her protest, Stefan and Ava emerged from the pub and told Jada about Connie’s attempt on their lives. Connie made a crack about Stefan “playing hero,” and Jada commanded the prisoner to keep quiet as Jada led her away.

Later, Jada and a handcuffed Connie arrived at the police station. Connie got hysterical when she saw the cardboard cutout of Li. She pleaded with Jada not to arrest “Li,” and an incredulous Jada replied, “I can’t arrest a piece of cardboard, lady!” As Jada led Connie into the interrogation room, Connie called over her shoulder and assured “Li” that she would take care of everything.

In the interrogation room, Connie demanded a lawyer and refuted Jada’s accusations that she had murdered Li and Everett and had attempted to murder Rafe, Melinda, Gabi, Stefan, and Ava. Connie eventually confessed that she had attacked Rafe in order to keep Bobby quiet. Jada realized with horror that Connie had set Bobby up and that Bobby himself had been a victim of Connie.

At the hospital, Gabi asked E.J. to stay with her and took his hand. He listened as she opened up about her last thoughts before the bomb had gone off. Gabi had been thinking of the last time she had seen her daughter and of how much she had missed Arianna. She thanked E.J. for saving her and insisted that she owed him her life. E.J. grinned and said he’d accept the accolades.

E.J. urged Gabi not to blame herself for what had happened with Connie. Gabi and E.J.’s talk turned to Stefan, and E.J. filled her in on Stefan trying to get him arrested for Jude’s kidnapping. A guilty Gabi realized that Stefan was likely lashing out because of the lie she had told him about having slept with E.J. again. She offered to tell Stefan the truth, but E.J. was uncertain if the truth would make a difference.

After E.J. left the hospital room, he crossed paths with Stefan and Ava. E.J. disclosed what had happened with Melinda, Gabi, and Connie, which prompted Stefan to rush to Gabi’s room. E.J. snidely remarked to Ava that Stefan seemed to be in a hurry to get to his wife. E.J. also needled Ava about her closeness with Stefan. When E.J. mentioned that Melinda had also been admitted, Ava stated that she needed to see Melinda to offer the woman an apology.

Back in Gabi’s hospital room, Stefan immediately went to Gabi and enveloped her in a hug. While both seemed affected by the moment, Stefan composed himself and asked about Gabi’s injuries. She told him that she was on the mend and shared his regret that they had not seen through Connie. Stefan was shaken when Gabi informed him that Connie had murdered Li and had framed her for the crime. Stefan then stunned Gabi by admitting that Connie had attacked him, as well.

However, Gabi’s concern quickly turned to anger after Stefan revealed that he had been in Ava’s room when the attack had occurred. Stefan explained that he had wanted to apologize to Ava. Gabi insisted that Stefan tell her why the apology had been needed, so he reluctantly confessed that he had asked Ava to “even the score” by sleeping with him again. Gabi’s anger grew into rage, and she snapped that she had lied about having a second rendezvous with E.J. Stefan defended that he hadn’t known the truth, but Gabi believed that if he truly knew her, then he should have known that she had only been trying to hurt him with the lie.

Stefan reminded Gabi that she had declared their marriage over, and Gabi angrily retorted that she hadn’t changed her mind. She ordered Stefan to “get the hell out,” and he complied.

Paulina visited Melinda, who was in an examination room at the hospital. She expressed relief that Melinda had been saved. Paulina brought up her visit to the crime scene and her discovery of the cardboard cutout of Li. She joked that at least Melinda had not been lonely, which got a small smile out of Melinda. Paulina hoped to further raise Melinda’s spirits by reinstating her as district attorney.

Melinda reminded Paulina that Paulina had been the one to fire her. Paulina conceded the point and attempted to bring up her offer to Melinda for head of sanitation, but she quickly dropped the subject after Melinda shot her a look. Melinda expressed doubt that Paulina would follow through with the offer, since E.J. was part of Paulina’s extended family, but Paulina insisted that she’d had it with E.J. Besides, she claimed, E.J. had given her new reason to fire him. Melinda eventually accepted Paulina’s offer as well as an invitation to dinner from Paulina.

Later, Melinda received another visitor—Ava, who had wanted to extend an apology for not following up with Connie. Melinda understood but lightly chastised Ava for ignoring Melinda’s phone call during captivity. Ava said that if it was any consolation, Connie had almost slashed her throat. Melinda scoffed that Ava was an amateur, and she told Ava they could compare notes when Ava had almost been blown up by a bomb. The two women shared a laugh at their mutual horror stories.

Paulina’s next stop was the police station, where Jada gave her an update about Connie’s arrest. Paulina assumed that Connie would be going to prison for a long time, but Jada wasn’t so sure. She believed Bayview was in Connie’s future.

Connie sat alone in the interrogation room, and a living apparition of Li appeared to her. “Li” told Connie that he was being arrested for aiding and abetting. He called Connie beautiful and smart and thanked her for all that she had done for him. Connie beamed and declared that she had always known Li would realize his heart belonged to her. “Li” kissed Connie and then disappeared, while Connie begged him not to leave her.
