It's Halloween already on Days of our Lives, according to Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans

The cast and crew of Days of our Lives recently returned from its Christmas break in time for another holiday — Halloween.

Stephen Nichols (Steve Johnson) shared a fun and informative Instagram video of him and Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Brady Johnson) in which they discuss the modern DAYS taping schedule.

"We just finished Halloween," Nichols told fans. "Look, it's Halloween back there."

You can indeed see Horton Town Square in the background all decked out with pumpkins and other fall decor.

As many fans know, DAYS tapes about eight or so months in advance so actors are often well done with storylines before plots air. However, Evans likes it like this for a good reason.

"It's actually better now because we're so far ahead that we shoot it now and then it's a long time [till it airs]. Before it used to be like two weeks. So, Christmas would just go on for a lifetime because it was here and then two weeks go by and then we start it in our own life. So, actually, I kinda think it is better to do it like this."

In the video, as they walk through the DAYS halls, they run into Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams) in costume as Julie. The actors are thrilled to see each other again after two weeks away from the set. As Evans and Seaforth Hayes conversed about plants and flowers in their home, they smiled for the camera and declared, "Blondes United." They then invite Nichols into the shot to include "the male blonde," as Seaforth Hayes put it.

What will Halloween bring on Days of our Lives?

DAYS is known for its unique Halloween episodes in which someone will have a frighteningly real nightmare that resembles a horror flick. In 2024, fictional soap scribe Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) dreamed of a terrifying Halloween for the cast and characters on Salem's soap-within-a-soap, Body and Soul.

In 2023, Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) worried for Eric's (Greg Vaughan) life. As for Steve and Kayla? They were killed by their own daughter, Stephanie. In 2021, the devil came to DAYS as a possessed Marlena (Deidre Hall) dressed as the devil while John was tied up in the DiMera crypt.
