Longtime Days of our Lives star Stephen Nichols recently marked a marriage milestone when he and his wife, Lisa, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. However, that was not the only thing the happy couple celebrated that day.
Nichols' daughter shares in his special day
Nichols took to Instagram to share his joy in being married to his beloved wife for 40 years, as well as his joy in another event that coincided with his big anniversary.

"Celebrating mine and Lisa’s 40th anniversary is made even more special, witnessing Alex proposing to our Dylan," Nichols wrote. "Joyous hearts all around. We love you both so very much. May your journey last decades!"
Nichols' words were accompanied by a series of photos of Dylan's now-fiance, Alex, proposing. The big event took place in New York's Central Park. In the snaps, Dylan's surprise and joy are apparent. Nichols also included a video of the happy couple walking through the park hand-in-hand.
Dylan is Nichols' youngest child and made a brief appearance on DAYS in 2017. His other two children, Vanessa and Aaron, had small roles on the soap in the 1980s when they were kids. In fact, Aaron played a young Steve Johnson in flashbacks to Steve's childhood and the moment the character decided to kill his abusive father, Duke.
Steve's Days of our Lives daughter isn't as lucky in love
On-screen, Steve would probably love to give his own little girl away to the right man one day, but Stephanie (Abigail Klein) can't seem to get her romantic life together. Steve is always the protective dad as he questions any man her daughter dates, but Stephanie still hasn't found a man to put a ring on it.
Stephanie had hoped Chad (Billy Flynn) would propose last year, but he wasn't over his late wife, Abigail. She learned that Everett (Blake Berris) had a ring and was ready to propose before the car accident that separated them. Before Everett got a chance to attempt another proposal, Connie (Julie Dove) killed him, leaving Stephanie heartbroken.

Stephanie is now involved with Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) but can't make up her mind whether she wants to be friends with benefits, just friends, or something much more. If Alex and Stephanie ever do get it together, perhaps her father can witness Alex's proposal and finally walk his baby girl down the aisle.
