General Hospital comings and goings: Scott Reeves returns as Steven Webber

General Hospital fans can look forward to seeing Scott Reeves back in Port Charles starting October 24, 2024, as Steven Webber. Reeves was last seen on the show 11 years ago.

In an exclusive interview with TV Insider, Reeves confirmed his return to the show and the role he played from 2009 to 2013.

Steven is released from prison

Steven Webber is the brother of Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), who recently mentioned that Steven had been released from prison. Heather (Alley Mills), who is currently in jail, is Steven’s mom. The last time Reeves was in Port Charles, Robin Mattson played his mother.

“It was great to meet and work with Alley Mills. She is so hilarious and plays that role to the hilt,” Reeves said in his interview.

In 2013, Steve was arrested in Tennessee for killing a comatose murderer so they could use that person’s heart to save a little girl.

Since being released from prison, Steven has been living in Sedona and trying to figure out his next path in life. After his arrest, Steven lost his medical license and is no longer a doctor.

History repeats itself for Scott and Melissa Reeves

Like his character, Scott Reeves has also been living in Tennessee. His wife, actress Melissa Reeves, recently reprised her role as Jennifer Deveraux on Days of our Lives. Their filming dates worked out so the couple could be in L.A. together.

“She was going to work and I was going to work over at GH, which was our whole life for decades. It was like a time capsule and it felt like it did before we had kids. We felt so blessed to get to be able to do that and experience that together again and then get to bring it home and tell the stories to our kids again,” Reeves told TV Insider.

Reuniting with friends on the GH set

Scott Reeves said that he and Rebecca Herbst, who plays his on-screen sister, Elizabeth Webber, are close outside of General Hospital. “She really was like my younger sister,” Reeves said.

He is also good friends with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). "We have known each other since 1988 when we met on Days of Our Lives, so we’ve known each other through living in different states, kids, grandkids, and more. You can’t take that for granted,” Reeves added.

When not performing, Reeves said he and Burton have hung out in the dressing room reminiscing. They also made new plans, including a possible reunion of their band, Port Chuck.
