Former Days of our Lives star Casey Deidrick arrested for assault

Casey Deidrick, who played Chad DiMera on Days of our Lives from 2009-2013 was arrested on Sunday, February 2.

Deidrick charged in domestic dispute

According to TMZ, actor Casey Deidrick was charged with domestic assault and interference with an emergency call.

TMZ reports that the police took Deidrick into custody after a 911 call from his girlfriend, who claimed he had assaulted her and taken her phone. He was arrested by the Davidson County Sheriff's Office in Tennessee and placed in jail until he was later released on a $2,500 bond.

Deidrick told the police that he and his girlfriend got into an argument when he accused her of secretly recording a conversation, which was the reason he grabbed her phone. According to the arrest report, Deidrick claims his girlfriend assaulted him by putting her hands around his neck.

The unnamed girlfriend corroborates Deidrick's reports of a fight but denies the accusation that she was recording him. She told the police that the actor snuck up behind her and snatched the phone right out of her hands. She also claimed to be "cowered in the corner" of their kitchen. Deidrick agreed to return the phone only after she agreed to move out of the Nashville home they shared.

Deidrick's Hollywood career

Born in Santa Clara, CA, and raised in Arizona and Colorado, Deidrick has been working in Hollywood since 2009, with DAYS giving him one of his first roles on-screen. He originated the character of Chad DiMera the same year he appeared on the popular series 90210 and Wizards of Waverly Place.

When Deidrick first began appearing on DAYS, his character was known as Chad Woods, but he was eventually revealed to be yet another long-lost offspring of Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo). Deidrick remained on the soap for four years until Chad left town. When he returned, he was played by Billy Flynn, who remains in the role today.

During Deidrick's time on DAYS, the actor played out a story in which Chad was a teenage father. He eventually fell for Abigail DiMera (Kate Mansi). In 2013, Deidrick revealed that he was exiting the soap of his own volition.
