The second Hope (Kristian Alfonso) laid eyes on the young man calling himself Doug Williams (Peyton Meyer), she knew there was something off about him. When she informs Roman (Josh Taylor) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) about this new man in town, she tells them of her determination to get to the bottom of things. Is this man really who he says he is, or is he scamming Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes)?

Hope grows more suspicious when she finds Doug III comforting Julie after she learns that someone stole Alice Horton's diamond necklace. Might her new alleged nephew be the culprit? With Detective Hope Brady on the scene, young Doug better watch out.

While Chad (Billy Flynn) and JJ (Casey Moss) are heartbroken to learn the news about Doug, they are on a mission and are determined to complete it. They have Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) and Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) there as bait to lure Clyde (James Read) out of hiding, but it looks like everything starts to go wrong quickly.

Chad puts on quite an act for Clyde when he grabs Cat and holds her at gunpoint, but Clyde is just as quick and grabs Gabi. Both women are in danger now, but another surprise is in store. As Cat screams for someone to stop, a shot rings out. Is the shooter someone completely unexpected who we have never met before? It's about time that Catherina shows her face, right?

Brady's dilemma

Brady (Eric Martsolf) really wants to move on from Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) if only Kristen would ever let him. He's excited about his date with Ava (Tamara Braun), but when he tells Belle (Martha Madison) about his plans, she is in shock. Ava? Really? Belle never expected her brother to be interested in a woman like that. Why is Brady always attracted to trouble?

It doesn't help that Kristen is ready to pounce when she learns that Brady and Ava have a date. She and Ava share words in Horton Square, but then things take a violent turn. Are we about to get an outdoor catfight just in time for winter?
