What to expect on Days of our Lives

Despite the news that John (the late Drake Hogestyn) is officially MIA, Marlena (Deidre Hall) gets up, gets dressed, and heads to work. Sadly, she can't stop staring at the picture of her husband on her desk. When Steve (Stephen Nichols) drops by, she gives him an update on his best friend.
Steve is just as alarmed as Marlena as she asks Steve what he knows. Despite his connections to the ISA, Steve has been kept in the dark and had no idea that the agency really lost track of John, but he is determined to get to the bottom of things.
That leads Steve and Marlena to make a decision. They are going to head to DC together and talk to Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy). Surely, he can find them some sort of clue so they know in which direction to search. This is going to be an all-hands-on-deck kind of mission for Steve and Marlena, but will their search lead them down a path they never wanted to go?
A moment of truth for Brady and Ava

While Brady (Eric Martsolf) worries about his dad, he also has to make sense of his relationship with Ava (Tamara Braun). He never expected to fall for this woman, but now he can't get her off of his mind. He is grateful she didn't press charges against Kristen (Stacy Haiduk), but Ava is angry that she was forced into that situation.
Brady and Ava finally have time to talk and discuss their growing feelings for one another. Will feelings be enough to form a strong relationship when Kristen keeps getting in between them? Ava has already been stalked, kidnapped, and held hostage all thanks to Kristen and Brady's precocious young daughter Rachel (Finley Rose Slater) and Ava is not sure she wants more of that.
However, when Ava sees how distraught Brady is about John, she might be able to put her animosity aside for a bit to be there for this man she has fallen for. Is this a new beginning for Brady and Ava without Kristen's involvement?
