Days of our Lives spoilers, December 9: Johnny has a whole lot of explaining to do

Johnny (Carson Boatman) knows he cannot go on lying to Chanel (Raven Bowens) as the guilt is eating away at him, but that doesn't mean he can bring himself to tell her that he cheated on her with Joy (AlexAnne Hopkins).

However, Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) already knows and throws his knowledge in Johnny's face. He's disgusted with Johnny for betraying Chanel, especially when Johnny did it because he didn't trust his wife and believed that Alex and Chanel were having an affair.

When Chanel walks in on the scene between Johnny and Alex, she demands to know what is going on. Alex keeps his promise to Joy and doesn't tell Chanel about the one-night stand, but he now has Johnny on high alert. Of course, Johnny covers for himself. While Chanel wants to believe whatever he sells her, she is well aware her husband has been acting stranger than ever.

Johnny also has another chat with EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel). His father has a plan that he thinks will help the situation, but someone unexpectedly is about to thwart things. Perhaps Johnny will now be backed into telling his wife the truth about what he did that one fateful night and letting the chips fall where they may.

Leo (Greg Rikaart) really stepped in it when he accused Javi (Al Calderon) of stealing his outlines for Body and Soul and writing a Lady Whistleblower column filled with soap opera spoilers. He had finally found someone after his breakup with Dimitri von Leuchner (Peter Porte) and let his own paranoia get in the way. He lamented to Marlena (Deidre Hall) but still hasn't yet taken all her advice.

That's why Leo is surprised when Javi doesn't seem as angry as he expects. In fact, Javi is sympathetic to his latest plight. Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) might have warned Javi to stay away from Leo because he is nothing but trouble, but Javi can't do it. When you're attracted to someone, you sometimes can't help who you feel sympathy for.
