Days of our Lives spoilers, December 5: Hope finally makes her way home

Although Hope (Kristian Alfonso) originally intended to fly home to Salem as soon as she heard that her father had passed, Bo's (Peter Reckell) showing signs of life changed that. She didn't think she could leave his side, but in the end, she realizes Salem is where she must be so she makes it home to support Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and her family.

Hope is surprised to meet her new nephew, Doug Williams III (Peyton Meyer), but she is glad that Julie has someone new in her life. When Hope makes her way to the cemetery to visit her dad's grave, she spends time with her own two children, Shawn-Douglas (Brandon Beemer) and Ciara (Victoria Konefal).

Shawn just went through an emotional breakup with Belle (Martha Madison), but he is holding strong. Meanwhile, Ciara needs to get back to Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) and her two children, so it may be a while before they are all together again. Perhaps the next time they see one another, Bo will be awake and ready to go home — after all, Bo did squeeze Hope's hand. He had to have heard her grief and was struggling to make it back to her.

Julie and Lucas (Bryan R. Dattilo) will miss Hope and her children, but they can't wait to catch Doug III up on everything Horton. He says he wants to know the family history, so Lucas and Julie oblige and reminisce about old times with their new Doug.

When Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) comes across the scene, she is not quite sure what to make of things. She wants to trust Doug's (Bill Hayes) long-lost grandson, but there is something about him that doesn't quite seem right. Will Jennifer hang around Salem long enough to get to the bottom of things or does she have to return to Boston right away?

None of the Hortons realize that Doug III is not quite as innocent as he seems. He was just released from prison and is the one who stole Alice Horton's (Frances Reid) diamond necklace out of the time capsule. Is he another grifter like Konstantin was after Victor's (John Aniston) death last year?
