Days of our Lives spoilers, December 4: Julie gets the shock of her life at Doug's grave

Newly widowed Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) couldn't bring herself to leave Doug's (Bill Hayes) graveside and stayed behind after the memorial for one final goodbye. As she asks Doug how she can go on without him, a young man appears out of nowhere. He apologizes for disturbing her and tells her his name is Doug Williams.

After trying to absorb this information, Julie demands more details and learns that Doug's grandson is now in Salem. Doug Williams III (Peyton Meyer) has just been released from prison. He wants to know the family he's only been told about but has yet to meet.

As Julie listens to this young man's story, she is floored but thrilled. Doug has a namesake to add to his legacy. She can't wait to bring him home and introduce him to his family. Does Doug III tell Julie that he was recently behind bars, showing how similar he is to his grandfather when he was younger?

When Julie brings Doug III home, there's some confusion at the Horton House. Ciara (Victoria Konefal) may have opened the time capsule, but an item has gone missing, leading to yet another mystery. Why was the box so hard to open? Why was Ciara able to do it so easily, and why would anyone take what was in there? Those questions are what Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) wants answered.

Steven Olson gets around

When Steven Olson (Stephen Schnetzer) visits Horton Square and spends some time by the plaque dedicated to his grandparents, Tom (Macdonald Carey) and Alice Horton (Frances Reid), he runs into Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart). Steven and Leo may be kindred spirits. Being that Steven is often involved with some shady business, does he know Leo via a con from the past?

The two men sit down at a table to chat and have an intense conversation. Steven had told his sister that after spending time in India, he was now reformed, but he definitely looked nervous when Julie mentioned that her grandson was an FBI agent. Does Leo's presence in Salem cause Steven to skip town without even saying goodbye to his sister?
