Tate (Leo Howard) is in a state of shock after Sophia (Madelyn Kientz) tells him she is pregnant. He never expected her to drop that kind of bombshell in his lap just before the holidays. Tate asks Sophia to sit down on the couch for a chat so they can figure out what to do next. His romance with Holly (Ashley Puzemis) has been going great, and now he gets this news.

Tate promises Sophia he will be there for her and support her with whatever she decides to do. Sophia is also a bit stunned as they are both still in high school and never thought they'd be parents so soon. They both had college plans that might have to be put on hold.

Meanwhile, Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) has some advice for her granddaughter. She knows Holly is in love with Tate but fears what will happen if they move too fast in their relationship.

Maggie tells Holly to take things slow with Tate. There is no need to rush into sex or anything serious. Maggie is afraid of Holly getting hurt. She is well aware of what can happen with teenage romances. Little does Maggie know how right she is about this not ending well for Holly.

While Tate deals with the news that he is about to become a teenage dad, Brady (Eric Martsolf) is ready for his first date with Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun). He arrives at her room above the Brady Pub to take her to dinner and a production of The Nutcracker and even helps her with her necklace clasp.

However, something apparently goes wrong because they end up enjoying an evening in, with some takeout in front of the TV. Does Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) make a move to ruin their night out? She is determined that Brady never finds happiness with anyone but her and has already given Ava a stern warning.

Despite a night that does not go quite as planned, Brady and Ava seem to enjoy their date. Will it lead to something more, and will Kristen allow it to happen? If Kristen stays true to form, not a chance.
