What to expect on Days of our Lives
As Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) mourns the tragic death of Doug (Bill Hayes) family and friends gather around her to offer their support as she plans a beautiful memorial for her beloved husband. Julie is stunned when she finds someone at her bedroom window and discovers that it is her brother, Steven Olson (played by Another World alum Stephen Schnetzer).

Steven hasn't been seen in Salem since the late 1970s but when he heard the news about Doug, he knew he had to be there. Steven also visits Horton Town Square where he remembers his grandparents, Tom (Macdonald Carey) and Alice Horton (Frances Reid). We have never seen scenes with Hope and her half-brother and it looks like now might be the time as Hope also flies back to Salem to say goodbye to her father. Will we learn what Steven has been up to all these years?
More old friends
Marlena welcomes Liz Chandler (Gloria Loring) back to Salem after nearly 40 years. At one time, Liz was a singer at Doug's Place on the Lake, which her husband, Neil (Joe Gallison), later bought and renamed Blondie's. While Liz and Marlena (Deidre Hall) eventually became close friends, Liz had an affair with Marlena's first husband, Don Craig (Jed Allen). Liz had also been married to Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) before she ever arrived in Salem.
Liz will also run into Marie Horton (Maree Cheatham), Tom and Alice's youngest child. Marie was in town for Alice Horton's memorial in 2010 but has not been seen since. Liz and Marie are old frenemies from long ago when Marie married Neil while Liz was still in love with him. Later, Liz accidentally shot Marie when she thought she was an intruder, leaving Marie temporarily paralyzed.
Marie was also the grandmother of Nick Fallon, who Gabi (then played by Camila Banus) went to jail for killing and who looked uncannily like Everett Lynch/Bobby Stein (Blake Berris). Marie and Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) will meet up and catch up on old times.
There was no way any of these former Salemites would miss the opportunity to lend ther support to Julie and say goodbye to a legendary man like Doug Williams.
