Days of our Lives spoilers, December 13: Things get ugly between Kristen and Ava

Ava was surprised when Brady (Eric Martsolf) admitted he would like to get to know her better and asked her to accompany him to dinner and a production of The Nutcracker. However, she also knows that Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) forever wants Brady and can get in the way of this budding romance. She's already warned Kristen that Brady's life is none of her business, and all that did was result in Kristen keeping Brady from seeing their daughter Rachel (Finley Rose Slater).

However, it looks like Kristen learns of Brady's date and is now on the warpath. An encounter in Horton Town Square turns violent,t with both women taking swings at one another. Will anyone come along to break up this brouhaha, or will it turn into a full-blown catfight all to see which woman wins Brady, a man who falls in love with a new woman every six months? Will Kristen ever give u,p and will Ava one day relent?

Is Shawn back for good?

His mother and sister might have taken a quick trip to Salem for Doug's (Bill Hayes) memorial, but Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Ciara (Victoria Konefal) are already gone, while Shawn (Brandon Beemer) has remained in Salem. He claims he no longer needs rehab, and his drinking is under control, but shouldn't he not be drinking at all?

Perhaps Jada (Elia Cantu) should know what Shawn has been up to at the Brady Pub because she's ready to offer Shawn his old job back at the Salem PD. When he was acting commissioner last year, Shawn's drinking got in the way of his job. The drinking also led Shawn to have a one-night stand with Jada's sister, Talia (Aketra Sevillian).

However, Shawn was once a good cop, and Jada needs more good cops on the force now that Rafe (Galen Gering) has branched out on his own as a private investigator. Will Shawn accept her offer (and stop drinking)? He might want to be there for his mother, but he also knows he needs his new beginning. Would this complicate things if Belle (Martha Madison) also decides to stay in Salem? After all, they are getting a divorce and it was Shawn's idea.
