Days of our Lives spoilers, December 11: Is this really the end of Clyde Weston?

For the past decade, Salemites have believed they have brought down Clyde Weston (James Read), only for him to escape again to cause more torture and trouble. At one point, he was released from jail for good behavior, then murdered Abigail in cold blood.

Now, he is on the loose again, going by the name George Hazzard, just like the character James Read played in the mini-series North and South. Cat (AnnaLynne McCord), Chad (Billy Flynn), Gabi (Cherie Jimenez), and JJ (Casey Moss) are on a mission to bring him down and rescue Cat's mother. In the midst of their sting, a blonde woman appears, and a shot rings out.

Clyde takes a bullet to the chest, but is this really what finally does the Salem bad guy in? He does not have the couth and power of Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo), but he does seem to have as many lives as the most infamous Salem criminal mastermind, who also happened to be Chad's father.

Clyde has been down and out before, but we have never seen him slumped over with a bullet wound. Are Salemites finally going to be free of Clyde?

Brady's ready to move on

Sometimes, the person you've been looking for turns up when you least expect it. Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Ava (Tamara Braun) have known one another for years but never thought about each other in a romantic way. They started getting friendly months ago over a few drinks at the Brady Pub, but then Brady got too drunk and ended up in bed with Fiona. We all know what a disaster that turned out to be, but Brady forges on.

Brady and Ava have been growing closer than ever, and Brady really wants to see where this relationship might go. He is even ready to take Ava out on a date. However, he also has to watch out for Kristen (Stacy Haiduk), a woman who can't seem to give up. Kristen has been obsessed with Brady for years and has already warned Ava to watch her back because she is willing to fight for who she wants.
