Days of our Lives spoilers, April 4: Chad learns EJ's fate

What to expect on Days of our Lives

Chad (Billy Flynn) is still beside himself over finding his brother lying in a pool of blood. Cat (AnnaLynn McCord) does her best to comfort him until Kayla (Mary Beth Ebans) finally arrives with some news. EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) has come through surgery, but he still appears to be in grave condition. Chad is relieved to learn he can see EJ.

Chad enters his brother's room and sits by EJ's side, but he seems to have a seizure while Chad is there. Chad does his best to help EJ, but the medical team will have to take over. Is EJ in worse shape than Kayla imagined? Chad is determined to find out who did this, but as he told JJ (Casey Moss), the list of suspects is seemingly endless.

About those suspects

After learning what happened to EJ, Leo (Greg Rikaart) and Javi (Al Calderon) are determined to get to the bottom of things. They are sure they can use their amateur detective skills to find the culprit. Leo can even think of this as an investigative reporter exercise as he learns to be a true journalist.

Rafe (Galen Gering) listens to his cousin and his cousin's boyfriend as they discuss the case and go over the witness list. Do they realize that they live with three people who had a true beef with EJ — Jada (Elia Cantu), Rafe, and Gabi (Cherie Jimenez)? Any one of them could have committed this crime.

JJ is also on the hunt for the shooter and questions Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) at the scene of the crime. Kristen stonewalls JJ, as she always does when the police ask her questions. However, she certainly had motive to shoot. After all, Kristen is convinced that EJ did something with her mother and that something is likely not good.

Kristen has been searching for Rachel Blake (Roslyn Gentle) for the last two weeks and has come up empty. Did she finally decide to take matters into her own hands with her brother? EJ definitely recognized the person who shot him, but could it have been a family member?
