What to expect on Days of our Lives

Susan (Stacy Haiduk) is thrilled to bring her sweet baby boy Elvis home from the hospital. They settle back into the DiMera mansion, where Susan reunites with her precious grandson, Johnny (Carson Boatman).
EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) is also happy to see Johnny, but Johnny doesn't want to have anything at all to do with his dad. He tells EJ that he doesn't even consider him to be his father anymore, which absolutely devastates EJ.
Once alone, EJ sits down at the desk where he was shot, hoping to remember what happened that fateful night. He is shocked when he recalls Johnny walking into the living room with a gun, but did Johnny really shoot his father point-blank in the chest?
Could EJ have seen a gun-toting Johnny earlier in the night before the real shooter came along? EJ is perplexed by his memories, but he is not going to let his son pay for this crime if Johnny did indeed commit it.
Kayla's quest

Knowing there could be a cure for what ails her baby brother, Bo (Peter Reckell), right in her hospital, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) gets to work. She calls Dr. Jeffrey Russell (Michael Dietz) into her office. He is working on an experimental drug that can stop sepsis in its tracks, and she needs to get this drug to Bo ASAP, or he could die.
Unfortunately, Dr. Russell tells Kayla that there is nothing he can do. He is not willing to let this drug be used when it's still untested, and they are ages away from that happening. Kayla doesn't care, as this is Bo's only hope. Without it, he will surely die, and she is willing to take a chance if it could bring her brother back to his family.
Kayla still has no luck and is tasked with telling Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Shawn (Brandon Beemer) that it's a no-go. However, Steve and Shawn are not about to give up. In fact, they are working on a plan of their own to bring Bo back to the land of the living.
