At the police station, EJ met with Chad in the interrogation room for a chat. Chad wanted to know why EJ had not yet set Cat free. EJ, in turn, wanted to know why Chad had made such an “insane request.” EJ reminded Chad of everything Cat had done to him, and Chad testily responded that he didn’t need the reminder. He confessed that the demand for Cat’s release had come from Clyde.

After Chad told him about the phone call from Clyde, EJ expressed confusion as to why Clyde would want to help Cat. Chad clarified that Clyde wanted Cat’s “head on a pike.” He firmly stated, however, that Clyde would not get his wish. EJ wondered if Chad was okay with Clyde holding onto Abigail’s remains and why Chad wanted Cat released. Chad insisted that he still wanted Cat to pay, but his priority was securing his wife's remains.

Chad announced that he did not intend to turn Cat over to Clyde. EJ criticized Chad’s lack of a plan for confronting Clyde and doubted it could work. Chad was steadfast that he could outmaneuver Clyde without Cat’s blood on his hands. Later, EJ informed Chad that he had set Cat’s release in motion. When Chad thanked him, EJ attested that he would do anything for his family and advised Chad to proceed cautiously.

At the Brady Pub, Roman poured Steve a cup of coffee in celebration of Vivian’s arrest. While both men were happy about her apprehension, Roman had expected her to make a “great escape.” After Steve and Roman commiserated with Roman about Vivian, Steve turned the subject to Chad. He admitted he was worried about Chad and updated Roman about the odd phone call from Clyde. Steve had suspicions about whether Chad had told the truth about the reason for Clyde’s call.

Steve mused about Chad’s obsession with finding Abigail’s body. He theorized that Chad might have struck a deal with Clyde for information. When Steve remembered how Chad’s conversation with Clyde had ended, he correctly surmised that Chad had been speaking in code and had agreed to an unknown demand. Just then, Steve received a text alerting him that EJ had released Cat from jail. He complained to Roman that Clyde seemed to be getting his way.

At the DiMera mansion, Kristen brightened when Brady stopped by to see her. He explained how he’d just sung her praises to Tate, and Kristen beamed in response. Her smile fell when Brady added, “Too bad it was all a lie.” Brady asked Kristen not to put on an “innocent act” because Sarah had told him everything. Kristen reminded Brady that Sarah had lied many times and that her word, therefore, couldn’t be trusted.

When Brady said that Maggie had confirmed Sarah’s claim, Kristen went silent. Brady prodded her to admit that she had been using the serum to pressure Xander into handing over Titan. Kristen protested that she’d only forced the issue as punishment for Sarah having lied about Brady being the hit-and-run driver. Brady snapped back, saying Kristen had lied to him for weeks. Kristen then defended that she’d been under pressure from the DiMera board to prove herself, and she likened herself to a “tormented butterfly.”

Brady believed Kristen was driven by self-serving greed, but Kristen refuted the accusation. She told Brady that her actions had been for his benefit. Kristen assured a confused and skeptical Brady that she could return control of Basic Black to him once the company was away from Kiriakis control. She talked about building a legacy for Rachel, Brady, and herself. Kristen then launched into a passionate plea for Brady to give the three of them another chance as a “forever family.”

Brady proclaimed that if he let Kristen take over his grandfather’s company, he would betray his family. Brady then told Kristen that there would be no chance for them if she went through with the deal. Kristen seized on Brady’s wording and asked if he was implying that he would give their relationship another go if she gave Sarah the serum. Brady denied the insinuation but reiterated that he would be finished with Kristen for good if she chose to continue pursuing Titan.

Alone later, Kristen conversed with Stefano’s portrait, noting that he might have been proud of Brady for forcing her to choose between “love” and “money.” She hoped that she’d made the right decision.

Kate called Philip and gleefully filled him in on the details of Vivian’s arrest. She assured Philip that Vivian had not disclosed that the letter from Victor was a forgery. Just as Kate bragged that no one would be the wiser, Xander entered her office. Kate quickly hung up on Philip and told Xander she had been talking to Leo about Body and Soul. Xander brushed off the call and told Kate he wanted her help stopping Philip from staking a claim on Titan.

Kate interrupted Xander and declared that she fully supported her son. Xander blasted Kate for depriving Sarah of the chance to walk again. The two bickered about why Philip had been left out of Xander’s will. Realizing that he was not persuading Kate, Xander threatened to shut down production of Body and Soul if she didn't help him. He pledged to buy the streaming service and promptly cancel the show.

Of the revitalizing serum, Xander vowed that “Body and Soul is gonna need it even more than Sarah does.” Kate called Xander’s bluff and reminded him that he’d have no means to make a business power move without Titan. She glibly sent him on his way, and Xander promised she would pay.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Philp arrived to find Sarah picking up after Victoria. He explained that he’d stopped by to check on Maggie since it was her anniversary. To Philip’s surprise, Sarah cordially greeted him and invited him to wait with her for Maggie to return. After Philip suggested that he was probably not Sarah’s “favorite person,” she surprised him more by saying she didn't blame him for his actions. She opened up about how much it disturbed her that Xander had been willing to give up Titan.

Sarah further bemoaned at the extreme actions Xander seemed willing to take to secure the serum. Philip rattled Sarah by bringing up Xander’s attempt to kill him. He gave her his version of what had happened, but Sarah refused to believe that Xander would have gone through with murdering Philip. She was stunned when Philip confirmed that Xander had pulled the trigger and if the gun had been loaded, that he would be a “dead man.”

Sarah apologized for Xander’s actions, but Philip assured her she had nothing to be sorry about. He agreed that she had a right to be concerned about Xander’s erratic behavior. Philip claimed that he was only trying to protect his father’s legacy. He added that the letter had convinced him that fighting for Titan was what Victor would have wanted. Philip said his goodbyes and left Sarah to ponder what he had said.

Later, Philip entered Kate’s office to tell her about his run-ins with Xander and Sarah. Kate cautioned him that Xander would go to any lengths, and Philip retorted that he could more than match his brother’s tactics. Philip said he would consider it an added benefit if he could cause some marital friction between Xander and Sarah.

Xander came home to a displeased Sarah. She told him about Philip’s visit, and Xander immediately protested that Philip had goaded him. Sarah didn’t want to hear it. She demanded to know when Xander would give up his need for revenge and payback and stressed to Xander that she didn’t want them to live their lives driven by vengeance.

Sarah’s rant was interrupted by Brady, who had come to tell them that he’d attempted to talk Kristen out of her pressure tactics. Xander assumed that Brady’s efforts had been in vain. Brady shocked them, however, when he reached into his pocket and handed the vial of serum to Sarah. Xander and Sarah smiled with relief and gratitude.
