Days of our Lives will feel like old home week again in the coming days. In addition to Alison Sweeney bringing Sami Brady back to Salem, Kyle Lowder returns as Rex Brady, and Louise Sorel will be back as Vivian Alamain.

Sami's half-brother Rex arrives in town this week to reunite with his mom, Kate (Lauren Koslow). Rex is sporting an arm sling after a recent car accident that had Kate worrying that EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) had targeted one of her kids like he'd threatened.

What really brings Rex back to town remains to be seen, but the actor teased his return last summer in an Instagram story. Since leaving DAYS last time, Lowder has embarked on a new career as a newscaster for KTVN, the CBS affiliate in Reno, NV.

The last time we saw Rex was in 2023, when Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) revealed that Rex was not the father of her newborn baby girl. Instead, the proud papa was Xander (Paul Telfer). Rex and Sarah were even briefly married during that time, but things ended when Xander learned the truth.

Lowder originally played Brady Black from 2000 to 2005. He returned to DAYS as Rex in 2018 and has been playing him off and on ever since.

Vivian's back again

Louise Sorel is back in action as Vivian, a character she created way back in 1992. In recent years, Vivian has been played by soap vets Robin Strasser (ex-Dorian Lord_, One Life to Live) and Linda Dano (ex-Felicia Gallant, Another World), but Sorel embodied Vivian again last year when she returned to town with Philip.

Vivian quickly disappeared again after kidnapping her own son, Stefan (Brandon Barash), but not before we learned she was the brains behind the forged letter from Victor (the late John Aniston) that Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) claimed entitled him to Titan Industries. With too many people now knowing that secret, it makes sense that Sorel would return to see this story through.

Vivian has also been in and out of jail multiple times over the last few years. Is she about to get in trouble with the law once again? Will she also finally reveal to Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) what really happened to her husband? Stay tuned to find out.
