Coles, who made a name for herself in primetime on such shows as In Living Color and Living Single, made her DAYS debut in 2023 as a woman who became obsessed with an amnesiac Abe (James Reynolds) after he mistook her for his wife, Paulina Price (Jackee Harry).

Whitley took Abe home to her apartment and let him believe that she was Paulina for months as he recovered from a head injury and became addicted to her favorite soap, Body and Soul via old VHS tapes. By the time he was rescued, Abe was a full-fledged fan who knew the soap inside and out and couldn't miss an episode.

Whitley was eventually caught and Abe was reunited with his family, but she's about to make a return Salem appearance.

Expect to see Coles as Whitley on the Wednesday, February 5th episode. Are we going to learn that she is the person who has been targeting the Body and Soul cast? Several cast and crew members have ended up in the hospital lately, including Bonnie Kiriakis (Judi Evans), who fell down an elevator shaft.

When Coles first joined the DAYS cast, she was excited about working on a soap for the very first time.

"I don’t fancy myself a dramatic actress, but something in me said, 'Take this on, this is gonna be a really cool challenge,' and why couldn’t I do it?" Coles told Soap Opera Digest at the time. "It was different than anything I’d ever done before. I have not done a lot of drama, so I was really intrigued by and challenged by the depths of where we were going to be going."

She also had enormous praise for James Reynolds, who she worked with the most.

"I want to do a quick shout-out to Jim Reynolds, who was the most lovely, wonderful partner to play with," she said. "I mean, he could not have been more lovely, and actually showed me the ropes, too. Jim gave me permission to make it my own. I wanna give him the biggest hug; he’s the best."
