Days of our Lives comings and goings: Casey Moss returns as J.J.

Days of our Lives fans will see yet another familiar face when Casey Moss returns to the Salem scene this month.

Days of our Lives' J.J. is back

Moss will bring J.J. Deveraux back to DAYS on Thursday, October 17, according to Soap Opera Digest. The character hasn't been seen on-screen since 2022.

Moss began his DAYS career in 2013 when he was cast as the SORASed son of Jack and Jennifer Deveraux. J.J. was born in 2003 but was in his late teens when he returned to Salem from boarding school ten years later.

J.J. caused quite a ruckus when Moss's version was introduced to the canvas. He fell for Eve Donovan's daughter, Paige Larson, but ended up having an affair with Eve. Things got dicey when his mother, Jennifer, walked in on her precious son in bed with her longtime rival.

When Paige got wind of her mother and her boyfriend sleeping together, she lost it and broke things off with J.J. while disowning her mother. Paige finally found a way to forgive just before being strangled in her dorm room shower by the Necktie Killer, who turned out to be Ben Weston.

In 2022, Moss became engaged to True O'Brien, who played Paige. O'Brien won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress for playing Paige in 2016, while Moss was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 2018 for Outstanding Younger Actor.

Why J.J. left Salem

J.J. later fell for Melinda Trask's daughter, Hayley Chen, who Kristen accidentally killed. J.J. turned to drugs after he lost Hayley. After he got his life together, he moved to Africa after the death of his grandfather, Bill Horton.

Moss returned to DAYS briefly in 2022 when J.J.'s sister, Abigail, was killed. Now that Chad and his parents believe that Abby is alive, is that why J.J. returns to Salem? Does he want to get to know his sister again? When J.J. does see FakeAbby, will he immediately suspect that she's a con woman? Could J.J. be the key to solving the FakeAbby mystery?
