AlexAnn Hopkins has wrapped her run as Days of our Lives' Joy Wesley after joining the Peacock soap last fall.
No more Joy on Days of our Lives

TV Insider confirmed the news with a statement from DAYS saying, "We enjoyed having AlexAnn bring the character of Joy to life, it was a short yet important story arc, and we hope the fans enjoyed watching it unfold."
Hopkins debuted on Days of our Lives in October when Nancy (Patrika Darbo) brought her daughter Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins) to town to audition for Body and Soul. Joy got the part, but ended up in complicated romantic entanglements, first with Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and then with Alex Kiriakis. Joy nearly slept with Johnny, not knowing he was married. She then faked an affair with Alex that turned into a real one.
Robert Scott Wilson, who plays Alex, was sad to see Hopkins go and offered nothing but praise for his former co-star.
"She was fantastic. She is fantastic," he told Soap Opera Digest. "I’m sure they’ll revisit that story sooner or later. I’m not sure when, but AlexAnn was really, really great. The amount [of material] that we did have together, I think she really showed up and always did really great work."
The door is always open

Wilson might be right about revisiting the story since Joy left town without telling Alex she was pregnant with his child. She was ready to when he got the test results, but saw how happy he was with Stephanie (Abigail Klein). Joy didn't want to interfere in their relationship.
She also didn't want to work with Alex and felt she couldn't work for Titan if he was working there. Since it was his family company, Joy decided to be the bigger person and quit. She then packed her bags and left Salem, but who wants to bet she will be back with a little bundle of Kiriakis joy (so to speak) in the near future?
However, Joy is off the canvas for now and it looks like Alex's love life may take yet another turn if he falsely ends up believing that Stephanie is having an affair with Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier).
