Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) is many things on Days of Our Lives, but ‘hero’ doesn’t come to mind. However, he’s been turning his life around recently and the opportunity to be the writer for the soap-within-a-soap, Body & Soul, has done him a world of good. But someone using the Lady Whistleblower name has been trashing the show by revealing spoilers and behind-the-scenes scandalous secrets. At the same time, New Doug (Peyton Meyer) asked Leo to fence the diamond necklace he stole from his family. Leo seemingly did, but there’s more to both stories that may cause Leo to become a hero.

The clues are all there

Considering Leo has turned over a new leaf and tried to be a good person, why would he agree to fence New Doug’s stolen necklace? If the Horton family ever found out, he’d return to Pariahville. New Doug needed the money to pay off a bad guy he got involved with but was bummed when the money Leo gave him came up short. As a result, New Doug was beaten to a pulp by henchmen.

If Leo had really fenced the necklace, he would have gotten almost all of what New Doug needed. The fact that it wasn’t enough money indicates that Leo probably paid New Doug with his own dough, which wouldn’t be a lot. A scene that backs this up was on the Wednesday, January 15 episode in which Abe (James Reynolds) told Stephanie (Abigail Klein) that Leo hired Rafe (Galen Gering) to follow up a lead on the new Lady Whistleblower’s identity. Paulina (Jackee Harry) is paying for this excursion to Rochester, New York, and Steph wondered why since Leo is getting paid a good amount as B&S’ head writer.

That right there is a tell: Leo doesn’t have the money to fund the investigation because he most likely gave most of what he had to New Doug. Holly (Ashley Puzemis) already knows that Doug got beat up for owing money, and his situation could worsen and become publicly known. If that happens, someone will most likely help him out financially or at least get rid of the baddies. But he already feels bad for stealing the necklace, and this is where Leo will ride to the rescue. When he sees that New Doug is truly penitent but bumming out because he believes the necklace to be gone, Leo will produce it, and Dougie can set the record straight with his family.

But that’s not the only thing Leo could resolve. In the same episode, he notices that Javi’s (Al Calderon) sweatshirt, which Kerry (Derek Yates) lent him, says, “I ♥️Rochester.” Leo’s going to quickly figure out that Kerry had gone to Rochester to visit family over the holidays and is most likely the mysterious new Lady Whistleblower. The audience already knows he is, but it will be truly entertaining to watch Leo uncover Kerry’s nefarious activities and come out on top as the hero.

If Leo pulls off at least one of these heroic acts, he’ll definitely gain points with many Salemites!
