Holly asked Tate if they were over, but he glanced at Sophia before responding. Enraged, Holly decided for them both. Holly broke up with Tate and then stormed off. Sophia comforted a stunned Tate. Sophia said she was sorry that had happened, especially after Tate and Holly had worked so hard to be together. Tate said it felt like all the lying and sneaking around had been for nothing.
Sophia insisted that Tate had tried to work things out, but Holly "went a little psycho." Sophia said it wasn't the first time Holly had screwed him over. Sophia reminded Tate that Holly had taken her time to clear his name after Holly's overdose. Sophia suggested she and Tate go for a walk.
As Tate and Sophia sat on a park bench, Tate complained that Holly was completely in the wrong but blamed everyone else. Tate said that Holly had unjustly hit Sophia for calling her out. Sophia said it was more than that, and she confessed that she had told Holly that she had feelings for Tate. Sophia told Tate he shouldn't be surprised, as he'd known she'd liked him when he'd asked her to prom.
Tate was taken aback, and Sophia wondered if she had made things awkward. Tate said he wanted everything out in the open and didn't want any more deception from anyone. Sophia quickly kissed Tate, but he pulled away and said he was not ready to move on. Sophia said she was embarrassed and had misread the situation. Tate said he was going home but would text Sohpia later.

Eric saw Holly crying and told her that although she was mad at him, he loved her and was there for her to talk to. Holly lashed out that she had just broken up with Tate and that it was all Eric's fault. "You and your brother are the exact same. You just get drunk and run people over and don't care about the consequences. For some bizarre reason, Tate defends you both," Holly cried. Eric said he didn't know why Tate was defending him, but he knew Tate loved Brady and didn't want him to go to prison. Holly said Brady deserved to be locked up.
Holly went off on Eric, claiming he and her mom didn't care about her. Eric said that Jude had an ear infection, so Nicole didn't want to take him on a plane, but he suggested that Holly fly to Paris for a long weekend instead. Holly continued to complain that her mom wasn't there for her. Eric told her to go home and pack a bag, and he would buy her a plane ticket. Holly reluctantly agreed but noted that nothing was keeping her in Salem.
Xander had a gun in his hand and was muttering to himself about Eric and Brady when Maggie walked into his office. She asked what he was doing with the gun, and Xander said he needed it for protection. He said that, as Victor's heir, he had a target on his back. He pointed out that Maggie had shown up unannounced in his office, so he had a security concern.
Maggie said Sarah had told her that Xander had gone after Brady with a baseball bat. Maggie was glad that Fiona had intervened. Xander said that Fiona and Brady had slept together, but Maggie already knew. Xander said it was another reason for him to be upset. Maggie said that Xander was obsessing with Brady and not the other way around.
Maggie told Xander to be more emotionally available for Sarah and spend less time thinking about how to punish Brady. Xander cried and shared that he didn't know how to help Sarah. He knew she cried when she didn't think he was around. He felt helpless watching Sarah suffer. Xander said he couldn't help Sarah walk, but he could get her justice.
Xander told Maggie he had been trying to find a doctor who could help Sarah get the use of her legs again, but he hadn't been able to find one. Maggie suggested it was time to accept that Sarah's paralysis was permanent. Xander tearfully told Maggie that he wasn't giving up hope, but he promised to get his priorities straight. Xander assured Maggie that he would give his attention to his wife and stop obsessing about Brady.
Rolf went to see Kristen and announced that he had important information that he could only deliver in person. He reminded her that she had hired him to work on scientific innovations when she had become CEO of DiMera. Kristen said she was bankrolling a fugitive, but Rolf assured her the gamble had paid off.
Rolf asked if Kristen remembered the Chorvat Prisms. Kristen recalled the advanced technology that had cured Bo's brain tumor. She wondered if Rolf had perfected the youth serum from the rare jungle orchid. Rolf told her that she would know that he had not just by looking at him.
Rolf explained that the ISA had possession of the orchid, but he'd been able to use his notes to develop a new and better serum. Rolf said it was regenerative and went way beyond what scientists did with stem cells. Rolf said the serum could regenerate anything, even organs, and reverse damage or aging.
Kristen asked if the serum could fix a spinal cord injury. Rolf said it hadn't been developed for that, but it wasn't out of the realm of possibility. Kristen told Rolf that Brady was facing prison time, and Sarah was paralyzed. She asked if the serum could help Sarah walk again. Rolf said he would need to look at Sarah's charts, but he might be able to get her back on her feet again. Kristen told him to make it a priority.
Marlena visited Brady at the police station. He was beating himself up about screwing up and said what he had done was unforgivable. She asked why E.J. had been there, and Brady told her that E.J. had wanted Brady to know that he was going to keep Brady in prison. Brady added that E.J. had told him even Kristen couldn't save him "this time." Marlena wondered how Kristen could help. She warned Brady that whenever Kristen got involved in someone's problems, she made them a lot worse.
Brady told Marlena that Kristen was willing to revisit the custody agreement. He thought it was an incentive for him to not give up. Marlena suggested that Kristen might have had a different motivation. She admitted that Kristen had said she still loved Brady. Brady confessed that Kristen had said the same to him.
Marlena noted that she would prefer if Brady wasn't saying he never wanted to be involved with that psycho again. Brady said he wished he felt that way after all the awful things that Kristen had done to all of them. He compared his attraction to Kristen to an addiction. He said he couldn't go cold turkey because of Rachel. Marlena asked if he was in danger of falling off the wagon, but Brady said it was a moot point. Brady said that even if he was ready for love again, he was going to prison.
Marlena said going to prison was not a foregone conclusion. She noted that Justin might be able to pull off a miracle. Brady said he wasn't looking for a miracle, but Marlena asked Brady to let Justin do his job. Marlena said that Eric had felt the same way after Daniel's accident but had found other ways to atone. She hoped that, in time, Brady would also find peace.
Brady told Marlena about Holly and Tate's fight. Marlena told Brady she would always be there for him. Before leaving, Marlena noted that she couldn't help but wonder what Kristen had in mind when she said she would help Brady. Marlena said she was worried because when Kristen set her mind to do something, there was no telling what she might do to follow through.
Kristen walked into Xander's office, and he noted that he did have a security issue. She told Xander that she was there to help him. Kristen told him about Rolf's serum. She said that Rolf still needed to fine-tune the formula, but when it was done, it was all his. Kristen added that she had a tiny favor to ask in return: Xander had to ensure that Brady went free.
