Marlena was happily surprised when Eric visited her at her office. He told her that he hadn’t gotten to Holly in time and that Tate had spilled the secret moments before Eric had gotten there. Marlena offered to talk to Holly, but Eric said that Holly would just be mad at Marlena, too. Marlena advised Eric to have compassion and patience, and she assured him that Holly would forgive him in time.

At school, Holly told her mom to stop calling her. Holly told Tate that she had talked to Eric. Holly thought Eric had lied to her about wanting to tell her the truth himself. Holly said she didn’t want to talk to her parents and hear their excuses. Tate upset Holly further when he said that the charges against Brady had been dropped. Holly argued with Tate about justice and left before the last class started.

Maggie asked Sarah if she was as intent as Xander was to put Brady behind bars. Sarah said she wanted to do the hypnosis to find out the truth, especially since she'd had the memory of a blurry image.

Fiona was cleaning up from the party and chatting out loud to Victor’s portrait. She said that she needed a way to prevent people from finding out she'd been the driver who had hit Sarah. Brady walked in behind her, but he didn’t overhear her confession. Fiona told him that it wasn’t a good idea for him to apologize to Sarah. Brady assured Fiona he wouldn’t tell anyone they'd been together the night of the accident.

At his office, EJ told Kristen that he'd had to release Brady due to a lack of evidence. EJ said that since he couldn’t send Brady to prison, he would send Kristen instead. EJ revealed that a cop had overheard Brady telling John that Kristen had disposed of Brady’s car. EJ reminded Kristen that tampering with evidence and obstructing an investigation would send her to Statesville for a decade. He offered Kristen a deal. EJ said that if Kristen testified against Brady in open court, EJ would not charge her with any crimes. Kristen told EJ that everyone knew hearsay wasn’t admissible, because if it was, he would be using the cop’s statement to keep Brady behind bars.

At the hospital, Xander and Fiona had coffee in the waiting room. In her office, Marlena assured Sarah that she wasn’t conflicted about the hypnosis they were about to do. Marlena said she also wanted to know the truth about the accident.

At Basic Black, Kristen found Brady and warned him that EJ was out for blood and looking for a way to charge him again.

EJ was surprised when Holly was waiting for him at his office. She confirmed that he had released Brady. EJ said he'd had to because he lacked evidence, so Holly offered to help find some.
