After receiving Kate's urgent call, Roman arrived at the pub and found her tied up. She tried to warn him it was a trap, but Andre knocked him out. Later, Bo and Hope entered the pub, but no one was there. As they searched for Shawn and Belle, an explosion went off in the back. In an attempt to escape the locked cooler, Shawn had set off a Molotov cocktail, but it had only caused a fire; the door was still in place. Luckily, Bo and Hope rescued him and Belle. The kids filled them in about Andre. Shawn was taken to the hospital to be treated for burns.

Lucas pushed E.J. to admit he had feelings for Sami. E.J. admitted it; he loved Samantha. Lucas was outraged, and Sami was annoyed. Lucas then got a frantic call from Kate, who asked him to rush to help her -- and to take clothes. Sami ordered E.J. to follow Lucas in case he needed backup. Before E.J. took off, she warned him never to declare his love for her again. E.J. quipped that he had just been joking.

When E.J. left, Sami broke down in tears, and Marlena comforted her. Marlena called her daughter on her feelings for E.J. Hope interrupted and informed them Roman hadn't been answering his phone. Sami feared Andre had done something to her father. Meanwhile, Lucas and E.J. found a naked Kate, who explained Andre had kidnapped her and taken her clothes. She feared Roman was in terrible danger.

At Stefano's fake funeral, Benjy pulled out a gun and pumped his father's body full of lead. Knowing Stefano was actually alive, many of the attendants were horrified. But Stefano awoke; the police had fitted him with a bulletproof vest. Stefano demanded to be set free, but Abe refused until the ruse was complete and Andre was caught. With no sign of Andre, Abe decided to continue with the faux funeral. They had the empty coffin carried out and loaded onto the hearse to be taken to the cemetery. The driver had been knocked out, however, and Andre had secretly taken his place.

At the cemetery, Bo showed up and reported that Roman and Kate were missing. Later, Kate and Lucas arrived, and she told everyone what had happened at the pub. They wondered where Andre could have taken Roman, as the gravedigger shoveled dirt onto Stefano's coffin.

Grandpa Shawn privately remembered learning from a young Stefano that his mother wasn't dead; Santo had still been married while courting Colleen.

Stephanie urged Chelsea to rush a sorority with her. Chelsea was more interested in asking Stephanie about her time in the cave with Max. Stephanie reminded her she had a boyfriend; she thought Jeremy deserved another chance. Max arrived and told Stephanie he was losing his business thanks to his involvement with Jeremy. He was taken aback when she defended the fugitive.

A conflicted Stephanie took off, and when she arrived at her parents' place, she found Jeremy waiting. He told her he needed somewhere to crash while he figured out what to do. Stephanie, torn between Max and Jeremy, blasted him for the way he'd treated her. Jeremy pulled her into a kiss when Max knocked on the door and demanded to see her.

Back at the pub, a paroled China Lee arrived and told Nick and Chelsea she was leaving the country. She needed Nick to take care of Artemis and DeMarquette -- permanently.

Belle flipped out when Philip mentioned their near-kiss in Tulsa. She set him straight by insisting she cared about him, but he seemed to have the wrong idea. She was committed to Shawn. Philip didn't accept that, so Belle said she couldn't spend any more time with him and left.

Meanwhile, Shawn told Lexie he was going to stop working himself into a jealous frenzy. He didn't want Belle to cheat on him with Philip, but if it happened, he'd deal with it. Belle arrived and explained that she'd told Philip she couldn't help him find his son anymore. She was sorry for putting Shawn through so much. An excited Philip raced in with news that Billie had tracked Lauren to a San Antonio motel. Shawn and Belle wished him good luck as he left. Shawn could see that Belle wanted to help Philip and encouraged her to go with him to Texas.

Bo warned Grandpa Shawn he was going to have to break his silence about how the vendetta had started, or they might not be able to rescue Roman. Bo also met with Steve to devise a plan to find Roman, who, unbeknownst to them, had been buried alive.

Steve raced Pocket to the hospital with severe gastric upset and learned that the baby had apparently been poisoned.

The doctor informed Steve and Kayla that Pocket had ingested a toxic substance. Steve feared he hadn't washed his hands after using a spray cleaner. Kayla assured Steve that couldn't have caused Pocket to get so ill.

While Jeremy hid, Stephanie and Max had a heated conversation. Max wanted to know why she had run from him at the pub and theorized she still had a thing for Jeremy. He mentioned how close they had gotten in the cave. After Stephanie got Max to leave, Jeremy accused her of hooking up with Max. Steve and Kayla's return interrupted them. Stephanie quickly told Jeremy he could stay in her room. In order to keep him from being found out, Stephanie told her parents she wanted to move back home. Later, Steve found Jeremy's pilot license on the floor.

Shawn graciously convinced Belle to help Philip find Tyler in San Antonio. Meanwhile, Billie informed Philip she'd rechecked Lauren's credit card receipts and hadn't found any baby items listed. She thought the boy was no longer traveling with Lauren, but he should still go to San Antonio to confront her. Later, Philip was thrilled to learn Belle would be going with him on his trip.

China Lee revealed to Nick and Chelsea that she was not really Artemis and DeMarquette's mother. A very powerful man, who was since dead, had hired her to transport them to the United States, where a contact was supposed to have met her in Vegas to pick up the children. The contact had never shown up, and China Lee wanted the kids off her hands. Nick reluctantly agreed to keep them until he could figure out what to do with them.

Abe visited Jett in the hospital. Abe said that Jett had been discharged from the police force effective immediately. Jett couldn't believe it. Abe explained why he had been fired. Jett said he would appeal the decision, but Abe said it was no use. Abe refused to step up for Jett. He tried to convince Jett that he had a lot going for him, but he'd compromised his cover for Chelsea.

Abe and Jett tried to figure out who had tipped off Rawlings. Abe said Jett's best effort had still put lives at risk, and that was that. Jett wondered what he would do next. Abe invited him to live with them and start looking for a job. Abe suggested starting as a deputy sheriff but not at the Salem Police Department. Abe said he had to do it on his own.

Stephanie and Chelsea were in the hospital, talking. Chelsea tried to convince Stephanie to keep her mouth shut about Chelsea and Jett in Las Vegas. She admitted that Jett had told her that he loved her. Chelsea tried to blow it off, but Stephanie wanted to make a big deal of it. Chelsea stated she loved Nick, but Stephanie accused that relationship of being more like brother/sister. Stephanie suggested she ask Jett about his feelings in case he'd been delirious in the ambulance.

Jeremy was mentioned in the conversation, and Chelsea wondered where he was. Stephanie did not admit she knew. They went in to visit Jett. Chelsea wanted to talk to Abe alone. Chelsea felt bad about messing up Jett's case, but Abe wouldn't let her take credit for that. He did praise her for saving Jett's life.

Meanwhile, Stephanie chatted with Jett and confronted him with the news of him being an undercover cop. She told him that Jeremy had dumped her. Jett apologized for putting Stephanie and Max in danger. She joked it off but apologized for not being smarter about Jeremy. Jett said that Jeremy should turn himself in.

Chelsea entered and admitted that she had blown his cover and was responsible for everything. Stephanie asked if Jett remembered anything after he'd gotten shot, fishing for the "love you" comment. Jett said he remembered talking to Chelsea in the casino then being in the Medevac. Stephanie's phone rang, and it was Jeremy letting her listen in on the chaos with Kayla. She hung up, but Jett asked if it was Jeremy. She said it was her mom, and Pocket was sick. She left.

Jett said he was glad Stephanie had left as it gave him and Chelsea time to talk. He thanked her for saving his life and said maybe one day she'd fill in the blanks for him. She said she'd rather not relive it. She asked what Jett was going to do next, and Jett said he wanted to work for the Salem Police Department. He knew he'd have to leave town because he couldn't ride Abe's coattails, but Chelsea knew of the perfect job for him, and he wouldn't have to leave town. She suggested working for Billie in the home security business. Jett flirted with Chelsea and said he liked the idea of working with Billie because he would be running into Chelsea often.

Jeremy hid at Stephanie's house when Kayla walked in with Pocket. She realized someone was there when she spotted a soda can on the bureau. She thought it was Stephanie and went to investigate. Kayla peeked in Stephanie's room and found nothing because Jeremy was hiding. She went to put Pocket down for a nap, enabling Jeremy to escape, but Kayla caught him and accused him of breaking and entering. Jeremy told her that Stephanie had let him in. She didn't believe him, but he showed her the key.

Jeremy admitted it had been his idea but that Stephanie had been against it. Kayla accused him of being a manipulator. He said it had been a mistake going there. Kayla told him that Stephanie had committed the crime of harboring a fugitive and told Jeremy he was not going anywhere without a police escort. Jeremy said he would turn himself in when the time was right. Kayla didn't believe him. Kayla ran through all the trouble that Jeremy had caused, and Jeremy asked for mercy, but Kayla wasn't about to give it to him.

Kayla grabbed the phone, but Jeremy stopped her. Jeremy reminded her that if he were turned in then Stephanie would go down, too. Jeremy called Stephanie's cell phone so she could hear what was going on. Kayla reminded Jeremy that he was a Horton and shouldn't be acting like that. Jeremy said that the Hortons were worried about everyone else, but he got ignored.

Kayla told Jeremy to grow up and figure out what kind of man he wanted to be, the pride or the black sheep of the Hortons. Stephanie showed up, and Kayla said she had some explaining to do. Stephanie stopped Kayla from calling the cops, saying Jeremy was the guy she loved.

Stefano and Rolf spoke with Stefano's attorney, Mr. Griffin. Stefano expressed distaste for Bo's plan. Steve walked in, and Stefano was not happy with him either. Stefano said he would press charges against Roman, as well, but Steve reminded him that Roman was "on ice." Stefano was not in the mood for Steve's "theatrics". Rolf forbade Steve to be there but didn't get far with that rant.

Steve asked Mr. Griffin how Roman had disappeared the same night he had gone looking for Andre. Stefano tried to convince his lawyer that Steve was a crazy person. Mr. Griffin stated that Stefano had a slam dunk case against the Salem Police Department. Mr. Griffin left, and Stefano dismissed Rolf so he could talk to Steve alone. Stefano admitted he didn't know where Roman was or how he was doing.

Steve said he didn't care, either, and proceeded to make fun of Roman. Stefano loved that and gave him a hand. Stefano was tired of Steve and announced the final curtain call for him. Steve said he had to cooperate with the police. Stefano tried to give him a guilt trip and threatened the entire Brady family. He said Steve had made a huge mistake and would live to regret it.

Rolf and security returned because of the yelling. Steve apologized and tried to convince security to put the gun away. He whispered to security to call Bo Brady for "the scoop." Steve tried to make a deal with Stefano, but Stefano was not interested in hearing about it. Steve mentioned Andre and said goodbye. Stefano stopped him. Steve said the Salem police knew where Andre's hiding place was. The leather folio was mentioned, and Steve said the Salem Police Department wanted to get to Andre and the folio.

Steve said that Bo knew Steve was with Stefano, but it didn't matter. Steve wanted a promise from Stefano that he would not hurt Benjy and wondered why Stefano hadn't asked how Benjy was doing. Steve said if Stefano stayed away from Benjy, Steve would make sure Andre was two steps ahead of the cops. Stefano said Benjy was not Steve's family, but Steve disagreed. He told Stefano to stay away from Benjy and all of his family. Rolf was listening in.

Stefano said he would never hurt a child and asked where Andre was. Steve said the police had received an anonymous tip of his hideout and were waiting for Andre to show up. On Steve's way out, he said Stefano had better drop the charges against the Salem Police Department. Rolf asked security to help Stefano to the car as he placed chalk marks on the door. Steve was hiding outside and saw the marks.

Nick visited Jett at the hospital and apologized for the way he'd treated him. He hoped they could be friends. Jett accepted Nick's olive branch. Nick was surprised when Jett mentioned that Chelsea had offered to get him a job with Billie.

Meanwhile, Chelsea had lunch with Billie and asked her mother to give Jett a position with Salem University campus security. Billie realized Chelsea had only lunched with her because she wanted a favor but agreed to hire Jett. Chelsea reported back to Jett, who was grateful Chelsea had been able to put aside her history with her mom, regarding Nick, to help Jett out. Chelsea was hit as she realized she'd just paved the way for him to spend lots of time with her mother. Back at the pub, Nick met with Billie, who said she couldn't find any information on Artemis and DeMarquette's identities.

Steve showed Bo the chalk markings Rolf had left at the funeral parlor for Andre. They hid and waited for Andre to show up for the coded message. They hoped he'd lead them to Roman and the leather folio. Andre arrived, read the markings and entered the parlor to retrieve a hidden piece of paper. Bo tried to read the paper from his hiding spot but couldn't, so Steve confronted Andre.

Steve tried to play like he was on the DiMeras' side, but Andre saw through his act and stabbed him in the gut. After Andre ran off, Bo attended to Steve, who'd managed to get the note, which warned Andre that he might have been compromised. Steve urged Bo to follow Andre, and Bo reluctantly left an injured Steve behind.

Stephanie begged Kayla not to call the cops on Jeremy. Stephanie pointed out that Kayla had stood by Steve when he had been in legal trouble back in the day, but Kayla balked at the comparison. She said she wouldn't call the cops if Jeremy turned himself in. She and Steve would even help him out.

Jeremy said he'd been let down too many times before and left. Kayla called the police, and Stephanie lashed out at her mother. Jeremy told Stephanie he was heading for Seattle but later wormed his way into hiding out at Nick's apartment.
