Several enemies are set to collide as Salem reaches its boiling point, though there is still an abundance of sadness in the city

A saddened Belle's back in town and doesn't want to leave her ailing mother's bedside, much like Marlena's other loved ones

John can barely cope with the sadness and refuses a request from Marlena, but the two find a middle ground

As Marlena's maladies worsen, John enlists Johnny's help to shake away some of the sadness for Marlena, and Chanel helps Johnny with the special project

Sad sack Alex receives some support from Sonny but also runs into a familiar face while drowning his sorrows

Between her mother's death and Alex's betrayal, a sorrowful Stephanie finds Chad's supportive shoulder just the right spot

While Stephanie, Joey, and Tripp share their sorrow and reminisce about their mother, a seething Steve seeks out Kristen

Kristen attempts her usually tricks with Steve, but the woeful widower is riled up and out for revenge

A gun is drawn in the battle between Steve and Kristen, and he ends up getting away with exactly what he needed

Rafe and Jada jump into action upon getting Kristen's confession from Steve, though it'll be a game of "Catch 'er her if you can!"

Steve isn't the only one who's steamed at Kristen, and Ms. DiMera gets another tongue-lashing from an outraged Chloe

Kristen wants nothing more than to get out of the line fire with her daughter, and she plans to ditch Salem altogether

Still, not all of Kristen's plans are successful, which leads to some celebrating for Rafe and Jada upon her capture

Kristen isn't about going down without a fight and plans to ensnare E.J. in her last-ditch effort for her freedom -- through blackmail, if necessary

Brady believes his blunders with Kristen have made things worse and attempts to make amends with his father

Spotting her father with Chloe makes Rachel quickly conclude her parents aren't getting back together, and she's furious her dreams have been shattered

While Chloe takes the blunt of Rachel's tantrum, Brady has a hard time believing what he's hearing from Gabi

Li attempts to be there for Gabi when Stefan's cross with her, but the two men come to blows -- twice

Believing he's blown up his life has Xander still drinking and throwing himself a pity party, which a worried Gwen attends

Gwen tries to bolster her old beau once more, while Sarah seeks out legal assistance from Justin but gets assistance from Bonnie

Former baddie Bonnie believes that Sarah should consider giving her felonious fella another go at it before going to divorce court

As Sarah weighs her legal and love life options, legal eagle Sloan and Leo's conversation doesn't remain confidential

Sonny is stunned when Will explains what he overheard between Sloan and Leo, but "stunned" swiftly turns to "seething"

Steam shoots from Sonny's ears as he listens to lying Leo attempt to explain away his devious, despicable deeds

Despite Leo's appeals, Sonny's had enough of Leo's wily ways and sends Mr. Stark packing once and for all
