Lani's reluctant to believe her hubby yet soon realizes that his faculties are fully functioning and he's giving her the facts

Knowing her loved ones are in potential peril, Lani leaps into action but might be too late to save Abe

Abe's instincts are usually correct, and the seasoned mayor senses that T.R. is up to something sinister

Abe also wants to ensure Paulina is safe and heads to her home to make sure T.R. hasn't harmed her

T.R.'s actions terrify Paulina, who's catching on quickly that he hasn't changed, while Abe arrives and arguments erupt

T.R. ambushes Abe, and while the mayor's arrival temporarily halts T.R.'s treacherous plans for Paulina, he remains a grave threat

Lani arrives to find Abe's lifeless body in a pool of blood and a seething T.R. poised to strike a petrified Paulina

Striving to save her mother, Lani pulls the trigger, and the terrible T.R. is taken down by his daughter's bullet

As the fallout from the fatal shooting begins, E.J. plans to end Gabi's reign as CEO of DiMera Enterprises and seeks out Chad

E.J. tries to enlist his brothers Chad and Tony in his battle to take back DiMera Enterprises, as Sonny's summoned by a vexed Victor regarding control of Titan

Felon Anna further vexes husband, Tony, when she shares her plans to fly the coop to evade prosecution for syringing Sarah

Meanwhile, Xander compels Maggie to save Sarah now that they've finally received the actual antidote

Maggie's misgivings cause concern for an anxious Xander, especially when Sarah's situation takes a turn south

Kayla injects Sarah, and soon after, she seems to recognize Xander, which is the miracle moment he's been waiting for

Still, not everything is always as it seems in Salem, and Sarah's twisty tale seemingly takes another turn

Gwen's still on the hot seat for what she did to Sarah and Abigail, but a twist of fate places her at a curious crossroads
