As Ciara and Will strategize about their next move, Sonny and Evan move toward becoming closer by spending tome together

Still, Evan isn't all he appears to be, and he's harboring a shocking secret that will surely change everything

While everything's being faked between Brady and Nicole to dupe Kristen, it doesn't sit well with an unknowing Eric, who feels deceived

Heartbroken over Nicole and concerned about his daughter, a sullen Eric ends up in someone else's arms

Having opened up about their daughter's death, Brady and Kristen begin to repair their fractured bond

Brady, however, still plays along with Nicole's ruse, and Kristen isn't about to stand back and lose him again

Kristen finds herself in the hot seat when Chad questions her about her recent meeting with their father

While Abigail and Chad's search for answers takes a surprising twist, El is surprised to find himself fantasizing about Lani, since he's engaged to Gabi

Lani is not too pleased to learn about the upcoming nuptials between Eli and Gabi and decides to destroy their "I do's"

Xander hopes to secure Brady's help without destroying the deceptions that he and Victor carefully laid

As per Rafe's request, Shawn-Douglas arrives to help figure out his mother's bizarre behavior, causing Princess Gina to worry her plans will be destroyed

Shawn-Douglas quickly begins to put two and two together and staggers Rafe when he reveals his royal hunch

While on the hunt for the Phoenix, John and "Steve" spot Tony and Anna, and she goes on a staggering tirade about Stefano

Stefano's blood boils as he listens to Anna's rant, causing John, Tony, and Anna to be staggered when "Steve" claps back at her

Stefano attempts to do damage control, but both John and Tony sense that there's something suspicious about "Steve"

John and Stefano have another run-in, and it's with a sinister Salemite who was believed to be dead

A trap is in motion when John and Stefano run into Dr. Rolf, who ends up taking aim at "Steve"

Unbeknownst to John, Dr. Rolf is ready to shoot blanks, and "Steve" is in on his evil master plan

John is shocked when "Steve" is shot, but, while his attentions are turned back to Dr. Rolf, Stefano captures him

A chained-up John is left to linger in a cell while Stefano heads back to Salem with grim news for Marlena

As Princess Gina gets her paws on John, Stefano shatters Marlena's heart when he heralds that John is dead

"Hope" attempts to help John with his predicament but must be the bearer of the bad news that Marlena has died

Believing things have gone too far, Kate has it out with Princess Gina, as she can't support her and Stefano's sinister scheme

Concerned for her friends and feeling rather guilty, Kate hopes it's not too late and decides to confess
