Xander warned Theresa to stay away from Maggie, Sarah, and Victoria now that she was out of prison and back in Salem. When Theresa teased Xander about the loss of half of his fortune, Xander admitted that he was happy by the turn of events. Xander explained that he and Philip brought out the best in one another.
In the town square, Philip asked Stephanie if she would continue to keep his secret about the forged letter. Stephanie agreed. Xander passed by after the discussion, but he did overhear Stephanie agreeing not to tell Alex about her “secret” with Philip. Xander told Sarah that he believed Philip and Stephanie were having an affair.
Maggie told Sarah that she had talked to Vivian at the prison when she had been there for volunteer work. Vivian informed Maggie of a new relationship she had “forged” with Philip. Sarah was twitchy, but she did not tell Maggie about the forged letter. Philip advised Joy to clear the air with Alex so that they could work together. Joy told Alex that she was quitting her job and moving back to New York. Joy left town.
Roman helped distract Kayla as she worried about John. Steve and Marlena visited Shane in his ISA office and questioned him about John’s disappearance. Shane told them that John had disappeared in Estonia. Marlena sensed that Shane had been holding information back from her, but she and Steve made plans to go to Estonia to look for John. Shane called Theresa and told her that Kim’s leukemia had returned. Shane asked Theresa to join him in California.
Julie took Doug and JJ to the Bistro where she was horrified to see Alice’s necklace on Melinda’s neck. Julie confronted Melinda, but Melinda insisted that she had legally purchased the necklace. While Julie went with JJ to file a police report about the theft, Melinda reminded Doug that she could tell the police that he was the actual thief.
Upon hearing about Theresa’s return, Holly used the event as an excuse to make up with Tate. Tate admitted that he had insulted Doug because he was jealous. Tate told Holly that he was worried that she was slipping away from him, but Holly insisted that they were solid.
Johnny confronted EJ about the events of Johnny’s conception. Johnny denounced the DiMera legacy and banished his father from his life. Johnny refused to forgive EJ, and he told Chanel that he would shoot EJ if he had a gun.
EJ accused Kate of telling Johnny about Sami’s rape in an attempt to get revenge on him. Kate reminded EJ of all the horrible things he had done to Sami that Johnny did not know about. EJ yelled that Kate would regret what she had done. When EJ threatened Kate’s sons, she vowed to kill him if he hurt any of them.
Brady took Rachel Jr on an overnight trip to keep her away from Rachel Blake. Brady told Belle about Rachel Blake’s repeated attempts to murder Ava. Ava confided in Melinda about her troubles with Ava. Melinda gave Ava her gun for Ava’s protection.
Javi convinced a reluctant Gabi to let Leo move in. Javi told Leo he loved him, and Leo said he loved him too. Gabi urged Rafe to change Javi’s mind, but Rafe declined. Gabi was pleased to hear that Belle had recused herself from EJ’s case, but admitted she was still concerned about getting justice.
Paulina reinstated Jada as commissioner. Jada and Rafe decided to talk to Ava about her time at the Blake House, but Ava had no information. Rafe and Jada questioned Rachel and Kristen about Rafe’s kidnapping by asking them to turn on EJ. Jada offered Kristen an immunity deal for Rachel in exchange for Rachel’s testimony against EJ.
EJ learned about Rachel’s immunity deal and attempted to inject her with Rolf’s serum to keep her from testifying. Rachel had switched out the serum with a placebo, so EJ disposed of her another way. Furious that her mother was missing and that EJ had played a part in that disappearance, Kristen grabbed the gun she had confiscated from Rachel Blake earlier that week.
