Chanel and Joy talked through their issues, but Chanel said she never wanted to see Joy again. Alex advised Joy to forgive herself and move on with her life. Joy refused to quit Body & Soul. To Abe’s dismay, Chanel formally quit the show. Johnny offered to quit instead. Chanel argued that even if Johnny quit, Joy was still a cast member, and Chanel refused to work with Joy. After Chanel walked out on Johnny, she cried in Alex’s arms.

Johnny and Leo commiserated together about their mistakes with their loved ones. When Leo later saw Javi, he apologized again. Javi admitted he was no longer angry with Leo. Leo suggested that he and Javi should be friends. Javi accepted. Kerry was jealous, but he told Javi that he was fine with the friendship. Unbeknownst to Javi, Kerry was Lady Whistleblower. Kerry worked on a new column about Leo as an oblivious Javi showered in the other room.

Lady Whistleblower’s latest column viciously attacked the cast and crew of Body & Soul. After Stephanie made a plea to Chad, he agreed to determine the identity of his columnist. Chad confirmed for Stephanie that Lady Whistleblower had ties to the Rochester, NY, area.

Shawn gave Belle a stack of cases that EJ had declined to prosecute. Marlena carefully watched the civil interaction between Belle and Shawn as they discussed how the cases would reflect well on them both. Before Shawn left, Marlena reminded him that he would always be part of the family.

In an effort to escape captivity, Rafe offered EJ a deal to prosecute Arnold in exchange for Rafe’s silence on his kidnapping. EJ declined. EJ argued that Arnold knew too much and that EJ no longer had the protection of the DA’s office since Jada had forced EJ out. Rafe promised to talk to Jada out of pressing charges against EJ. EJ scoffed at the idea.

EJ texted Jada to throw her off the scent of Rafe’s disappearance. When Jada admitted that she was overwhelmed by wedding planning without Rafe, Javi offered to plan the wedding. At the police station, Jada told Shawn she was suspicious of Rafe’s disappearance. Jada theorized that someone was posing as Rafe.

Ava confronted Kristen with evidence that the threatening texts had come from the DiMera mansion. Kristen threw out a list of suspects with a motive, but Ave argued that only Kristen wanted to keep Brady away from Ava. A protective Rachel yelled at Ava and drove her out of the house. Kristen realized Rachel was the texter, and she told her to stop.

Kristen told Brady that Rachel was the texter. Brady blamed Kristen for Rachel’s behavior, but Kristen argued that it was Brady’s fault because he was not around. Tired, Brady asked Kristen to accept equal blame for Rachel’s pain. Kristen agreed. Brady suggested they take Rachel to a therapist, and Kristen reluctantly agreed.

Amy Choi had a sit down with Brady and Tate to discuss Tate and Sophia’s future. Amy insisted that Tate and Sophia marry. Tate refused, and Brady backed his son. Sophia told Holly about the baby before Tate could speak to her. Holly walked out on Tate. Tate promised Sophia that he would support her, and he asked her about adoption. Sophia was hesitant to breach the topic with her parents, but she told Tate that she would talk to them.

Julie sunk into a depression and refused to answer texts from friends and family. Chad found Julie asleep in the living room, and she admitted that her bedroom was lonely without her husband. Chad and Julie talked about their grief for their spouses. Chad advised Julie to talk to Marlena. After Chad left, Julie was still unable to face her room, and she curled up on the couch to sleep.

Doug failed to come up with enough money from the sale of the necklace to pay off his debts. Thugs beat Doug unconscious in the park, but Holly found him. Doug lied and said he had been mugged. Because Doug refused to talk to the police, Holly took Doug home to see Sarah. After Sarah patched Doug up, Holly asked him to tell her the truth about the thugs in the park. Doug admitted to his theft and how the money from the sale of the necklace had not covered his debts. Holly promised to secure the rest of the needed money. Worried about how the news would affect Julie, Doug begged Holly not to tell anyone about the necklace. Holly agreed.

Stephanie and Sarah talked about Philip and Xander’s forced co-working situation at Titan. Sarah hoped the men would tame each other’s worst instincts. Stephanie joked they could team up and take over the world.

Philip pushed to claim the CEO's office, but Xander refused to relinquish it. The men decided to share the office. Xander plotted a hostile takeover of DiMera Enterprises. Philip argued against the move as a bad idea because it would necessitate illegal activity. Philip argued that it was also too dangerous to the family to cross Kristen.

After Xander left for the day, Stephanie overheard Philip on the phone confirm with his mom that Victor’s letter was a forgery. Stephanie confronted Philip, and he confessed that Vivian had concocted the scheme. Furious, Stephanie pointed out that Philip had involved her and Belle in a felony and endangered their jobs. Stephanie broke things off with Philip. Philip accused Stephanie of using the situation as an excuse to reunite with Alex, but Stephanie declined the accusation.

Stephanie went to talk to her mother but ran into Sarah at the hospital. Stephanie admitted that Philip should not have been allowed to run Titan. Meanwhile, Philip left a voicemail on Stephanie’s phone, begging her not to tell anyone about the forged letter.
