Days of our Lives summary for the week of January 20, 2025

Leo accused Kerry of being Lady Whistleblower and revealed how he had set a trap for him. Kerry denied the charge. Leo said there was video footage of Kerry breaking into Leo’s room. Kerry argued that was impossible because he had erased the footage. Caught, Kerry defended himself. Javi dumped Kerry, and he hooked back up with Leo. Kerry warned the new couple that they would be sorry for what they had done to him.

Kate gave Hattie a short-term contract on the soap. Bonnie received a text that asked her to take the elevator to a wardrobe fitting. Bonnie fell down the elevator shaft and suffered broken bones, but she survived the fall. Justin threatened to sue the TV show for negligence. When Justin learned that the text that Bonnie had received prior to the accident had not been from wardrobe, he suspected that the accident might have been intentional.

Jada pulled Kerry in for questioning about Bonnie’s accident, but she did not have enough evidence to hold him. A mysterious hooded figure wearing the same outfit as Kerry placed a red X across Bonnie’s photo, then picked Alex’s photo as the next victim.

Paulina asked Chanel to shoot the death scenes for her character, and she agreed. Chanel’s final scene with Joy proved to be overly emotional, and Chanel slapped Joy. Joy told Alex that she felt even with Chanel. Abe told Alex and Joy their characters would be a new couple on the show. Abe also approved Alex and Joy’s real-life dating. Abe convinced Kayla to step in for Bonnie on the show while Bonnie recovered.

EJ plotted with Arnold to dig up dirt on Jada. EJ ordered Arnold to step in as the commissioner and confirm that Jada had pushed EJ out of his job, because EJ had been planning to expose Jada’s corruption. When Arnold asked if the wedding was off, EJ said no.

Philip took his promise to Sarah to heart, and he told Xander that he had changed his mind about the hostile takeover. Philip wanted to wait until after Rachel had returned home, but Xander convinced him that Kristen would not hesitate to kick them while they were down. The Kiriakis brothers agreed to fulfill their father’s desire to take over his biggest rival’s company. At the hospital, Kayla fulfilled Sarah’s desire to rejoin the hospital staff.

Stephanie told Alex that she had broken up with Philip. Stephanie also told Alex that she had been disappointed that their relationship had ended. Alex admitted that he had felt the same way. Stephanie decided to drop the show as a client so that she could date Alex, but he did not want her to regret her decision. Joy interrupted before Alex and Stephanie could decide what was next for their relationship.

Amy Choi refused to allow Sophia to put the baby up for adoption or for Sophia to go to college. Sophia told Amy that she was ruining her life. Ava urged Amy to put herself in Sophia’s shoes. With a sneer, Amy told Ava to butt out.

Holly went to console Tate when she heard about Rachel’s disappearance. Holly admitted she was not angry, just confused about her relationship with Tate. Holly was helping Tate with a social media campaign to help find Rachel when an upset Sophia stopped by. Sophia told Tate that Amy had mandated that there would be no adoption.

Marlena pleaded with Steve to help reach out to John. Steve explained that Shane had said the mission was too dangerous to disrupt. When Cat visited Marlena to ask about the assistant job, Marlena apologized. Marlena explained about Rachel’s disappearance, and her inability to reach John. Cat confided in Marlena that she had romantic feelings for Chad but understood that they would never be reciprocated.

Julie continued to avoid her bedroom. Worried, Chad forced Julie to meet with Marlena. Julie told Marlena that her depression was normal and that she believed therapy would be a waste of their time. Marlena convinced Julie to endure one session with her before she decided whether to stop therapy.

Shawn and Belle went to the ER to see a child that had been hit by a car. After Shawn confirmed that the child was not Rachel, he and Belle shared a lingering celebratory hug. Kristin continued to blame Ava for Rachel’s decision to run away. Brady calmed Kristen, and she said she did not blame Ava.

Brady sought comfort from Ava after he talked to Kristen. Ava blamed herself for Rachel’s disappearance, but Brady noted that even Kristen had admitted to him that Ava was not to blame. Ava told a story about how she had run away from home as a child, and she opened up to Brady about how her father had abused and killed her mother.

EJ prevented Kristen from searching the tunnels for Rachel because he did not want her to find Rafe. Kristen opened up to EJ about her mother and Rachel, and she admitted that she still blamed Ava for Rachel’s desire to run away. Kristen claimed that if not for Ava, she would be with Brady, and Rachel would be home.

Rachel ran away to Kristen’s family home in Aremid. A mysterious woman in white listened to Rachel’s tale about how Ava had broken up her parents. The woman offered to help Rachel get rid of Ava permanently. Rachel called Ava and gave her directions to pick her up. Ava left a voicemail for Brady, but the recording was garbled. When Ava arrived at the house, the woman in white and Rachel jointly held a candlestick and hit Ava over the head.
