Days of our Lives summary for the week of December 16, 2024

Kate refused to perjure herself on Philip’s behalf in court. Maggie refused to testify on Xander’s behalf because she did not want to choose sides between Victor’s sons. Brady declined to testify against Xander even when Belle threatened to call him a hostile witness. When the case went to trial, only Shawn testified on Philip’s behalf.

Sarah testified about Victor and Philip. Belle questioned Sarah on the stand about how Xander had attempted to kill Brady, but Sarah claimed spousal immunity to avoid answering the questions about Brady. The judge determined that Xander and Philip both had valid claims, and she split the company into two halves for them to run together. Philip teased Xander after the verdict, but Xander walked away without losing his temper. Once alone, Xander vowed to push Philip out of the company.

Stephanie overheard Alex and Johnny talking about Alex’s fake affair with Joy. Alex almost told Stephanie the truth, but he decided to keep Johnny’s secret. A heartbroken Stephanie claimed she was fine, but she rushed into Philip’s arms. Philip celebrated his courtroom win with a make-out session with Stephanie in his hotel room.

Joy attempted to push Chanel away by claiming that she wanted to keep her personal life separate from work. Chanel was concerned about Joy, so she convinced Joy to continue to be her friend. Johnny tried to change Chanel’s mind, but he stopped when she appeared suspicious of why he wanted to stop hanging out with Joy.

JJ asked Gabi out for coffee, but they had no set plans. When Gabi told Javi, he stole her phone and texted JJ to move things along. Julie warned JJ to stay away from Gabi, but JJ told her about how Gabi had risked her life to help him recover Abigail’s body. When JJ received a text from Gabi, he texted her back, but he lied to Julie about who he had been texting.

Belle stopped Mark from signing a plea deal, and she secured an 18-month prison sentence for him. Though EJ was annoyed by Belle’s maneuvering, he seemed intrigued when she told him she was newly divorced. Cat told Felicity about their mother, and they decided to travel to Canada to see her. Mark reunited with his siblings before he started his prison sentence. Cat said goodbye to Chad on her way out of town.

With Julie’s permission, Jack and JJ repurposed the time capsule as a keepsake box for remembrances of Abigail. Inside the box, they placed Abigail’s first newspaper byline, a lock of hair from Abigail’s first haircut, a drawing of the family by Thomas and Charlotte, Chad’s wedding band, and a Halloween photo of JJ and Abigail. As Abigail’s remains had not been recovered, the family buried the box in Abigail’s grave.

After Leo tells Holly that love never lasts, Holly asks Maggie for advice. Maggie cautioned Holly not to rush into sex with Tate before Holly was ready. Holly admitted that she was disappointed that Tate had slept with Sophia first. Maggie reminded Holly that there were always unintended consequences to sex, including regret. Maggie said she believed that Sophia might have regretted her decision to sleep with Tate so soon after his breakup with Holly.

Sophia told Tate she was pregnant. Tate told Sophia he would support whatever decision she wanted to make. Sophia noted that her choices were limited because the state required parental consent for her to terminate a pregnancy. Tate promised to help Sophia with travel expenses and keep the secret from her parents. When Tate asked Sophia to keep the baby a secret from Holly, Sophia was annoyed that Tate had made the situation about his girlfriend. Sophia reluctantly promised to keep Holly in the dark.

Jennifer admitted to Julie that Hope had asked her to keep an eye on Doug. When Julie informed Jennifer that Doug had been in prison, Jennifer guessed that Doug had stolen Alice’s necklace. Doug approached Leo to ask him to sell the necklace. When Leo pressed for details, Doug admitted who he was, that he had stolen from his family to pay off a debt, and that he regretted his impulsive decision. Doug reluctantly left the necklace with Leo to find a seller.
