Leo made an impromptu visit to Marlena’s and brought scones, but Marlena wasn’t in the mood. Leo walked in anyway and insisted on knowing what was wrong. Marlena told him that she had found Belle in bed with someone, and despite claiming she wouldn’t reveal who, she accidentally blurted out EJ’s name.
Leo said it was okay that she told him because she needed someone to confide in. Marlena told Leo that Shawn had shown up and EJ walked out, and the whole thing was awkward as it was clear they had spent the night together. Leo assured her he was a former gossip columnist, but Marlena was upset she had been so indiscreet. Leo said she must think of him as a close, trusted friend.
Marlena reminded Leo he was her patient, but he said that was ages ago. He happily shared that he and Javi had reunited. He told her the whole story, ending with how Javi kissed him romantically, then he spent the night and had “lots and lots of sex.” Marlena wondered if that was a good idea.
Marlena reminded Leo that the last time he acted so hastily, it didn’t end well, and he couldn’t build a relationship on a faulty foundation. “Are you saying my relationship is doomed?” Leo asked. He didn’t see the point of waiting when they’d been apart so long. Leo suggested that she was projecting because of EJ and Belle. Marlena agreed and said she didn’t want him to get hurt because she cared about him. “Like a best friend?” Leo grinned. Marlena admitted that she did care about him like that.

Jada woke up with a hangover and told Gabi she didn’t think there was a chance the wedding would happen. Gabi said that Javi was helping Rafe get ready and that her brother was the only one who partied harder than Jada had.
Jada admitted she was surprised to see how much Rafe enjoyed his bachelor party. Stephanie arrived and brought cosmetics from Body & Soul. Gabi had to take care of something and said she would meet them at St. Luke’s.
Jada told Stephanie she wasn’t nervous about her wedding. “After all, I’ve done this before,” she noted. Jada told Stephanie that her marriage to Everett/Bobby didn’t end as she’d hoped, but the silver lining was it brought her and Stephanie closer.
Jada started feeling better but noted that she hadn’t heard from Rafe. She thought she would hear from him before walking down the aisle. She thought she would have gotten a text goodnight. She felt like she was being ghosted. Stephanie reminded her that her phone worked both ways and it was still early. Jada admitted something had been off with Rafe lately.
Jada noted how hands-on Rafe had been with the stripper and thought it was weird he’d work with EJ. She didn’t think it added up that EJ lost his job because of Jada but would be fine with hiring her fiance. Just then, “Rafe” called Jada and apologized for not calling sooner. He said he wanted one last call with his gorgeous fiance before she became his wife, making Jada beam.
Javi showed up at “Rafe’s” hotel room and handed him a container of ceviche. Shrimp for breakfast?” he gagged. Arnold told him he had ordered room service and told Javi he didn’t need help getting ready. He tried to usher him out, but the stripper came out of the bathroom. Javi didn’t know Rafe had company. Arnold told Javi it wasn’t what it looked like and that he could explain.
Arnold made up a story that the stripper brought the scarf he forgot, but she had been drinking, so she spent the night. Javi asked where she slept. “Rafe” said he slept on the floor and nothing happened, but Javi wasn’t buying it.
“We had sex, okay?” Arnold admitted. He asked Javi why he was making such a big deal of it. Javi ripped into him about how he proposed with his mother’s ring to Jada, and was supposed to be marrying her. “So?” Arnold asked. Javi didn’t understand how “Rafe” could do that to Jada. Arnold told him to get over it and warned him not to tell anyone about it.
“Rafe” said he wasn’t married, so no vows had been broken, and it wasn’t Javi’s secret to tell. “So no harm, no foul? How could you hurt Jada like that?” Javi asked. Arnold told him she wouldn’t be hurt if she didn’t know. He asked if Javi would ruin their big day because of a little extracurricular activity. Javi said this wasn’t an ‘80s movie, and most bachelor parties didn’t end with the groom having sex with the stripper. “Rafe” argued it wasn’t unusual for people to sow their wild oats before settling down. Javi said he didn’t sound like himself, but “Rafe” told him again he wasn’t to breathe a word about it to anyone. Javi wouldn’t commit to keeping it a secret and left.
Gabi went to the Hortons' and asked JJ if he would be her plus-one at the wedding. She downplayed the importance of coming out as a couple at her family gathering but noted it would be fun. JJ agreed it was a big deal for him to go with her to her brother’s wedding, but he liked that it was a big deal and wanted to go with her.
JJ and Gabi were kissing when he got a work call. He said he was off, but they needed him to go to work as he had to testify on a case. He apologized for not being able to go. JJ assured Gabi he would much rather be with her than doing anything else. Gabi offered to save him a piece of cake. Before she left, JJ told her he knew being asked was a big step, and he liked that for them.
Leo ran into Javi in the square and shared that he was just telling his best friend, Marlena Evans, about him. Javi said that he was mad at Leo because Leo ruined Jada and Rafe’s wedding. Leo was confused.
EJ brought Rafe a muffin with a candle and sang to him for his birthday. He lit a candle and told Rafe to make a wish, then took off his gag so he could blow it out. Rafe told him that he wished for EJ’s death. EJ revealed his “good news” that it wasn’t only Rafe’s birthday, it was his wedding day.
EJ reiterated that Jada wasn’t looking for him because she didn’t think he was missing and planned a wedding for her and Arnold. EJ reminded Rafe that if he took a shot at a DiMera, there would be a reprisal, and he blamed Rafe for letting Jada take his job. Rafe couldn’t believe EJ would stoop so low as to marry Jada off to a maniac for revenge, but EJ told him to relax as he was sure they wouldn’t consummate the marriage on their wedding night.
EJ explained that before the happy couple could head up to the honeymoon suite, all of Salem would be handed some disturbing news: Jada Hunter would be outed as a corrupt cop. He added that the plan was for Jada to lose her job so “Rafe” would be reinstated, and then Arnold would convince the mayor to reinstate EJ, too.
EJ went back to taunting Rafe with the muffin, but all of a sudden, he leaped up and lunged at EJ. Rafe knocked EJ out and growled, “There’s not going to be a wedding, you son of a bitch.”
