At the Dimera mansion, Brady took a call from Ava. He had hoped it was the police and they would have a lead on Rachel after reviewing security footage. He gave her an update and told her he appreciated her call. “That makes one of us,” Kristen snapped behind him. Kristen ripped into Brady about being on the phone with Ava while Rachel was missing, so he told Ava he’d call her later. Brady tried to get Kristen to calm down, but that went over like a lead balloon.

Kristen recalled when they found out that Rachel was theirs, only to have Sarah take off with her. Brady said there was a difference: Nobody took her this time. He said Rachel was a smart kid, but Kristen said the feeling in the pit of her stomach that she would never see her daughter again was the same.

Brady assured Kristen that they would get Rachel back. “She’s just a child, Brady. She’s out there all alone. Who knows what could happen to her,” Kristen cried. Brady knew Kristen was scared but knew Rachel was resourceful. He told her they’d been up all night and needed to get some sleep so they were reasonably rested when Rachel came home. Kristen agreed to try, and Brady promised to be back soon. He gave Kristen a long hug before leaving.

Belle came into the station from court and asked Shawn if Rachel had been found yet, but he said she had not. Belle offered her help, but there wasn’t much she could do. Shawn listed off what everyone was doing and said they had to wait for news to break.

JJ called and told him that he’d spoken to an ambulance dispatcher, who had a call about a little girl who was hit by a car and on her way to the ER. Shawn said that according to JJ, her description matched Rachel’s. Shawn told Belle that the little girl was wearing a leopard print coat, and that was what Kristen said Rachel was wearing. Shawn asked Belle not to call Brady yet, and they left for the hospital together.

Shawn checked the ER and came to tell Belle the little girl wasn’t Rachel. Belle was so happy she hugged Shawn. Belle was glad she hadn’t called Brady and scared him and was grateful that Shawn was trying to find Rachel. Shawn promised to keep her updated and they parted ways.

At home, Tate couldn’t concentrate on anything while worrying about Rachel. Marlena assured him everyone was doing what they could to find his sister. Tate said he couldn't believe she was missing on top of everything else.

Marlena told Tate that on top of Brady, she was always there for him. Tate shared that he wanted to be there for Sophia but when he did, it hurt Holly. He used the sonogram as an example, noting that seeing it made it real, but it made him sad, knowing they couldn’t appreciate the miracle because they didn’t mean for it to happen. Tate said when Holly ran into them and knew what they were looking at, she was sad. Tate added he hadn’t heard from Holly since, but just then, she knocked on the door.

Holly knew Rachel was missing and thought Tate would be worried. Marlena asked to be notified if Tate heard anything and left. Tate was glad Holly was there and noted how upset she had been the day before when she had run into him and Sophia.

Holly said it didn’t matter as Rachel was missing. Tate said it still mattered and said he understood if she felt like he and Sophia shared something that he and Holly didn’t. Holly agreed she did feel like that. Tate reminded her they were sharing a moment but not raising a baby together.

Tate told Holly that he and Sophia were not getting married, and had chosen adoption for the baby. Holly hoped Sophia would tell her parents soon so they would know what was happening. Holly had an idea on how to get people’s attention about Rachel’s disappearance.

Holly helped Tate make a post with hashtags as she had more followers on her social media. Sophia knocked on the door and came in crying. She told Tate her mom wouldn’t agree to the adoption before throwing herself into Tate’s arms.

Sophia realized Holly was there, and Tate told Sophia that Rachel had run away. Sophia felt bad that they were in the middle of a crisis. Holly said she would leave as Tate and Sophia had a lot to talk about.

At work, Sophia went to Ava to ask for an extra shift, explaining she didn’t need the time off because she’d switched her doctor’s appointment and had it already. “Why am I just hearing about this now?” her mother barked behind her. She scolded Sophia for not telling her as she had been waiting at the hospital. Sophia admitted she’d changed the appointment and didn’t want her hovering. The conversation quickly turned to Amy berating Sophia for getting pregnant.

Ava told Mrs. Choi she understood and suggested Sophia tell her how the appointment went. Sophia assured her she was healthy and showed her mom the ultrasound photo. “That’s my grandchild,” Amy said. Sophia apologized for excluding her mom and promised she’d go with her to her future appointments.

Amy was upset again when Sophia told her that she and Tate had chosen adoption. Amy said she should have thought about the fact that she wasn’t ready to raise a baby before having sex. Ava tried to calm the situation but Amy snapped that Sophia didn’t want to face the consequences of her actions. “So the baby is a punishment?” Sophia cried. Her mom said what was best for the baby was not to be given away to strangers. “There is not going to be an adoption!” she said adamantly.

Sophia said that she and Tate had some say in it, but Amy disagreed. “I am the adult, and I make the decisions,” her mom told her. Ava suggested that Tate and Sophia were too young to be raising a child. Sophia reminded her that they were supposed to go to college. Amy told her she would have to put her dreams on hold because of the risk she took when she had sex. Sophia said she lectured her enough, and her mom was ruining her life, making her sad, depressed, and miserable.

Sophia stormed out, giving Ava the opportunity to ask Amy to see things from Sophia’s point of view and feel for the position she was in. Amy told Ava bluntly that she didn’t need to try, she was a sinner like everyone else, and facing consequences was part of life. Ava told Mrs. Choi that Sophia had learned her lesson and that being forced to have a baby was traumatic enough.

Amy told Ava they didn’t see eye to eye on important issues but felt strongly about her beliefs. Amy warned her to tread lightly. Ava said Sohpia and Tate weren’t ready to be parents, and she should consider adoption as it could be the best thing for them and the baby. Amy told Ava it was none of her business.

At the Brady pub, Marlena sat with Steve and told him about Rachel. He asked how he could help. Marlena asked Steve to help her contact her husband. Steve said he could tell how hard the no-contact mission had been on her and he had already called Shane and read him the riot act.

Steve shared that Shane understood but said that John was in a delicate spot, and if Shane or anyone else tried to contact him, it could jeopardize the mission and put John in serious peril. “Is it that dangerous?” Marlena asked. She wondered why he would take on such a risky mission and agree to break off contact with his family. Steve didn’t know but said whatever it was, it had to be something big.

Marlena appreciated Steve’s help and asked him to try to find out anything he could. She missed John so much she started to cry. “I know you do,” Steve said softly and gave her a hug.

Brady stopped in to see Ava at work. She asked how she could help with Rachel’s situation. Brady said he was trying to put on a brave face for Kristen, but he felt scared and guilty. Brady cried that Rachel went to this extreme to get their attention because they had failed her as parents.

Kristen took out Rachel’s phone and looked at a photo of the two of them. “Where did you go?” she cried.

Meanwhile, Rachel entered a house where the furniture was draped with sheets. She took out her stuffed snake from her bag and smiled. “Well, Seymour, we finally made it,” she said.
